Multi-Platinum & Gold ARIA-certified, ARIA-nominated, and 4x Golden Guitar-nominated powerhouse KINGSWOOD is back with its latest single, “Lovin’ A Girl” – a heartfelt, guitar-driven ode to classic Country Rock released on August 15.
Check out the funny, cheeky video here, which is great entertainment value!
With over 90 million global streams and a career spanning more than a decade, KINGSWOOD has solidified its status as one of Australia’s most enduring and genre-defying bands. Known for seamlessly straddling the line between rock and country, the band’s new release plants its boots firmly in the dust of Americana, echoing the musical spirits of Neil Young, Gram Parsons, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Written aboard KINGSWOOD’s legendary tour bus ‘Peggy’, “Lovin’ A Girl” taps into the golden era of American songwriting – equal parts nostalgic and emotionally nuanced. With ringing guitars, warm harmonies, and a story steeped in the tension between desire and guardedness, the track explores the delicate dance of love and self-preservation.
Born from a love of vintage rock, country soul, and storytelling that lingers, KINGSWOOD is where Tom Petty meets Alan Jackson, and Johnny Cash shares a whiskey with Lynyrd Skynyrd – a perfect intersection of grit, groove, and heart.

“Lovin’ A Girl is a pondering of scenarios where, after subsequent heartbreaks, I’ve always been incredibly apprehensive to delve into developing something again,” says guitarist Alex Laska. “So, I play a game where I imagine relationships or a fantasy that plays out very quickly in my mind of what that relationship would have been like. And then it ends, and none of it takes place.”
“We were in Brisbane sitting at the front of our tour bus and were supposed to go out and meet up with a bunch of people,” vocalist Fergus Linacre recalls of writing “Lovin’ A Girl”. “We started playing and just got on a roll and became really excited about the song we were writing. Then suddenly it was midnight, and we missed the whole reason we went to Brisbane!”
This single sets the tone for KINGSWOOD’s forthcoming album – a pure country rock journey that reaffirms their place among Australia’s most versatile and authentic musical storytellers.
Fans of classic country rock will have the chance to experience KINGSWOOD’s new era live when they hit the stage at Gympie Music Muster, Savannah in the Round Festivals, as well as The Bend Classic later this year, and Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2026.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
