(Friday 22 August) Today, multi-disciplinary artist Cult Of Venus unveils her much-anticipated debut EP Algorithm via her own imprint, Liberty Belle Records (FUTURES / Virgin Music), a body of work that confronts shame, control, silence and obsession through a dystopic lens.
Algorithm is where art, activism and ethereal pop collide, a textured, immersive debut that channels personal freedom through bold, sonic rebellion. Across four tracks, Cult Of Venus draws listeners into a shimmering, digitised landscape where longing and defiance intertwine, crafting a world both haunting and beautifully conflicted.
Following the propulsive rush of earlier singles “Algorithm” and “Sinner”, “Silence” unfolds with a delicate, haunting grace. Beneath its surface, a steady bassline pulses like a heartbeat, while ethereal synths float above, weaving a shimmering veil of sound. Unlike the urgency of earlier tracks, this piece moves with subtle tension, never pushing or pulling, but instead suspending the listener in moments of reverie.
Cult Of Venus says on the track: “The power of silence is often overlooked. Using your voice or choosing not to can have an equally powerful impact. What is not said can carry an immense weight.”
The EP’s closing chapter, “Dedication”, drifts through a darker dimension. There’s something spectral in its construction: chopped vocals echo like distant transmissions, synths shimmer and bend like light through fog. Beneath it all, a steady, reverent rhythm moves like ritual.
Following a breakout year supporting St. Vincent across Europe and CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry on a 28-city North American tour, Cult Of Venus has grown acclaim as a formidable live performer. The global success of her singles “Algorithm” and “Sinner” seeing her gain major support from tastemakers and hundreds of plays at the biggest radio stations across the world, including SiriusXM’s Alt Nation, BBC Radio 1, KROQ, BBC 6Music, 98.7 Los Angeles and KCRW. The latter track continues to gain momentum here in Australia, with Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne now ranking #1, #2 and #3 respectively among Cult Of Venus’ top markets.
All the graphics for the Algorithm EP were created in collaboration with Sarah Schmitt – known for her work with The Strokes, Suki Waterhouse and more – and shot and filmed by Moody Darkroom. Alongside these creatives, the “Algorithm” video was edited by Award-winning filmographer Charlie Robins.
Cult Of Venus is a multi-disciplinary performance artist who has played MOMA PS1, Fotografiska’s Chapel Bar for David LaChappelle’s “FAITH” and The Women’s March NYC. She was also an artist in residence at Riker’s Island women’s jail. Her music is the meeting point of art and activism with powerful songs that critique the impending environmental collapse, Disaster Capitalism and social media as a surveillance tool; her sustainable upcycled merch line has raised thousands of dollars donated to support the Women’s prison association and other regional charities.
With Algorithm, Cult of Venus stakes her claim as a truly singular voice in contemporary music.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
