Western Sydney-based multi-hyphenates Zion Garcia and SOLLYY today announce their joint Aus + NZ headline tour kicking off this September. Joining them on all dates is iPod, an artist beached up from outer space to save Aus-rap. Tickets are on sale now, details BELOW.
Bringing their trademark DIY, rap, old-school hip-hop and off-kilter production to Perth, Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, the tour continues the pair’s momentum as artists charting a lane of their own. Having firmly marked their places across Gadigal/Sydney’s music circuits, Zion Garcia and SOLLYY’s respective breakthroughs have been built from their staunch self-assuredness, indispensable commentary and community-led approach.
The news lands ahead of the release of Zion Garcia’s forthcoming mixtape “The New Film Star” (out Aug 29) – a project used as a vessel for experimentation within all stages of the songwriting process, exploring what it means to pursue full creative range, with the title itself embracing triumph over self-doubt and external prejudices as a mixed-race artist.
Finding inspiration through the work of his favourite film directors, old-school hip-hop, Guitar Hero 2, as well as his collaborators and confidants within the Western Sydney music scene and beyond, “The New Film Star” includes the previously released ‘FIGHTBACK’, ‘Sensitive’ and ‘SCORPIO SWORD’.
Taking the best parts of old classics and modern trends, SOLLYY combines his own style of hip hop and house to create unique club-ready productions that keep people on their feet. Praised by Pitchfork for “always sounding like he’s recording through a megaphone, even when he’s just repping his hometown”, SOLLYY is fierce and assured with his upbringing, cultural identity, and love for music at the forefront, releasing his first full-length solo album I LEFT MYY HEART OUT WEST earlier this year.
SOLLYY and Zion are also members of Full Circle – the Western Sydney collective made up alongside FRIDAY*, Dylan Atlantis, Nick Ward and Breakfast Road, re-writing history through collaboration that is authentic to their own experiences.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
