in OctoberPraise for THE COLLIFLOWERS
“With their electric bendy guitar licks and emotionally charged lyrics, watching The Colliflowers play was like witnessing a delightful musical orgy of layered sounds that just worked so damn well.” Stephanie Jewell, The Rockpit
“The Colliflowers sound, a fusion of classic Aussie rock with a sprinkle of indie magic, is the kind of musical elixir that we obsess over here at Happy Mag.” Tammy Moir, Happy Mag
“Big ups, you guys. The blend of smoked out psych and modern Australian rock is done with the same kind of vibe as locals such as Ocean Alley, Vanilla Gorilla and more.” Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J Unearthed
“The type of song that you get lost in and suddenly the whole arvo is gone and the sun is setting.” Declan Byrne, Triple J
“Not hard to see how this could work for a lot of people. Easy, jam band feel with a moreish chorus.” Max Quinn, Triple J
Great mates and good times, The Colliflowers are your friendly neighbourhood indie rock band from Byron Bay/Northern Rivers, Australia!
Comprising Gary Collocott (vocals), Rachael Goddard (drums), Nelson Ludeke (lead guitar) and Alex Pereira (bass), the 4-piece delivers a dynamic fusion of indie rock and pop for the perfect sun-soaked, feel-good soundtrack.
Known for their high-energy live shows and infectious tunes, The Colliflowers have already become a well-known name in the aussie music scene, selling out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, touring with The Rubens, DICE, Sun Room (USA) and The Vanns, and making festival appearances at Spaced Out (QLD), Tone City Records Festival (WA), and Byron Music Festival (NSW).
The Mirage Hotel Story
Since their formation in 2022, The Colliflowers have been on a silent mission to define their sound and deliver it to audiences in a way that feels genuine and exciting. After a slew of successful singles across the years, The Colliflowers decided it was time to put together a body of work that would give their fanbase a catalogue of releases that would reflect The Colliflowers’ sound. The EP was recorded while trying to juggle national touring with disjointed studio stints, often with different engineers at different studios, the resulting EP felt inconsistent, thus, never saw the light of day, with select tracks released as singles throughout 2024 and early 2025. Learning from this experience it was evident to The Colliflowers that if they were to create an EP reflective of themselves and representative of their influences and personalities, it would require a more concentrated amount of time, effort and sacrifice.
Following the conclusion of their 2025 ‘Streets Tour’ along Australia’s east coast, The Colliflowers made the call to prioritise the writing and recording of their debut EP , which at this point had no name, and no material. Over the months that followed, Gary, Rachael, Nelson and Alex spent countless nights writing chord progressions and melodies in an attempt to fashion them into arrangements that captured not only The Colliflowers sound, but their journey so far. After the best part of 2 months, the still-nameless EP of 6 new tracks was ready to be recorded, so The Colliflowers piled into an old ute and drove 7 hours down the highway to meet longtime friend and producer Jack Nigro at Sonora Studios on the Central Coast.
The idea was seemingly simple, record 6 tracks across 7 consecutive days and once the Sonora Studios door was opened as a gateway to sonic exploration, the direction of the project started to take shape right away. Whether it was the combination of tight, syncopated drums with classic rock guitar tones on ‘Moment in Time’, the Steve Miller Band-esque use of feedback manipulated through delays and reverbs on ‘Locked Up’ or the snare recorded in an empty parking lot in ‘Holiday’, The Colliflowers and Nigro were completely lost in a creative haze that would ultimately bring fans an EP that feels familiar yet experimental. With the finishing touches placed on the western-inspired ‘San Pedro’, the surfy ‘As It Goes’ and the indie-rock anthem ‘Waterhead’, the mission was a success and the EP was finished, the only thing that eluded them was a title.
After compiling a catalog of tracks that completely encapsulated The Colliflowers, the band thought it only appropriate to title the EP in a way that expresses their experiences playing shows around the country, living out of hotel rooms, making long-haul flights and drives, looking back at the journey so far in an absolute daze and loving every single minute. When the name ‘Mirage Hotel’ was floated, the band knew it was a perfect fit and thus ‘Mirage Hotel’ the debut EP by The Colliflowers was born.
Released on September 25th, ‘Mirage Hotel’ will go live on all streaming platforms with an accompanying Australian Tour running from October through to the end of November, taking the band to Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay and a festival appearance at Rolling Sets Tweed Heads. With the momentum of the highly anticipated EP release and a refreshed live set, there is certainly no better time to come and get amongst a Colliflowers show, and with dates around the country there’s bound to be a show near you.

For fans of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and The Rions, this EP delivers something experimental yet familiar to those acquainted to The Colliflowers’ electric Indie-Rock. Whether it be from The Colliflowers’ live show or from their prolific social media presence, which has garnered over 95,800 likes on TikTok and over 352,000 streams in the last 12 months on Spotify alone, The Colliflowers are certainly making a name for themselves in the Australian independent music scene. Previous releases from the Northern Rivers/Byron Bay band have had airtime on national radio and TV, including RAGE, Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, and editorial playlists such as Fresh Finds (AU/NZ) and Local Noise from Spotify, as well as New Music Daily, Today’s Indie Rock, Good Times and New In Rock from Apple Music.
With their debut EP ‘Mirage Hotel’ released on September 25th, a national headline tour kicking off in October, and a spot on Rolling Sets Festival on November 29th, The Colliflowers are showing no signs of slowing down! Don’t sleep on them and join the club!

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
