Rising star in the new wave of world-class soul and R&B, Australian-based artist, creative, and ARIA nominee BOY SODA has unveiled his highly anticipated debut album SOULSTAR, via Warner Music Australia. Listen HERE.

SOULSTAR, the thirteen-track debut album from BOY SODA, is a bold and genre-blurring statement, featuring his latest single ‘Never The Same,’ the intergalactic, saxophone-laced single ‘Blink Twice,’ the honey-harmonizing anthem ‘4K’ with Dean Brady, and the critically acclaimed ‘Lil Obsession’, which is fast approaching 5 million global streams.

SOULSTAR is defined by its large-base of artists and Australia’s most renowned and talented musicians who BOY SODA brought together in the depths of the blue mountains: a three part horn section, string quartet, vocalists, live piano, drums, congos and lap steel guitar.

“There was this communal feeling that we were all doing something really incredible and special,” says BOY SODA on the debut album. “It felt over-indulgent being able to have that many live instruments. I’m very aware of the rarity and the privilege to be able to make that album. But hey, who better than to call on your talented mates to make something special happen.”

SOULSTAR follows BOY SODA’s first-ever ARIA Award nomination for Best Soul/R&B Release — recognising excellence in the genre across Australia — for his breakout single “Lil Obsession.” This milestone comes on the heels of his recent trip to the US in partnership with East West – a JV of Warner Music. While in Los Angeles, he collaborated with creators and media platforms including Garden Sessions, Goyo, and On The Radar – before heading to New York Fashion Week. While in New York, he attended shows by brands including Prada, Keem Studios, and KSUBI, and connected with creators such as Indie Hourzz and Tyler Walsh.

Earlier this week, BOY SODA brought SOULSTAR to life with a raw, unfiltered, and sold-out performance at Lazybones in Marrickville. He will take the stage at The Evelyn in Melbourne on October 11. Later this year, BOY SODA will perform at festivals including Changing Tides Festival, Panorama, and Beyond The Valley. For further information head Here

BOY SODA covered Panic! At The Disco’s iconic 2000s emo classic ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ for his first triple j Like A Version. BOY SODA slows things down a little and brings in some gentle drums, velvety, warm bass lines and jazz-y horn trio – a transformed take on the track that sets it apart from the original. Check out the cover performance HERE, and his original track ‘Lil Obsession’ HERE.

In what has already been a massive year, BOY SODA has continued to gain momentum, receiving praise from music tastemakers around the world. Support has come from online voices such as PopSamCamSleepingongems_itsjust_camm, and The Morning Shift Show, alongside major music outlets including Rolling Stone Australia, NME, Sniffers, Viper Mag (UK), Headliner Magazine (UK), MTV, Acclaim, and Life Without Andy. BOY SODA also unveiled a special live rendition of ‘Lil Obsession’ on YouTube – watch the live video here.

2025 will continue to be a massive year for BOY SODA. Stay tuned for more exciting news soon.
