WORLDS SCARIEST POLICE CHASES.

How did the band come together back in 2010 in Pittsburgh? Where did it all begin?
Dan Rock had been around the music scene for years working at a record label, starting his own, touring with bands, and going to countless shows. Eventually, he wanted to play music himself, so he pulled together some friends to write the dumbest, fastest songs possible. What started as a joke, something we thought would last a couple of shows, has somehow kept going 15 years later. I guess the joke’s on everyone else.

Briefly describe your journey to date.
We started in 2010 and dropped our first full-length, UNFUCKWITHABLE, in 2012. We self-released that one, and it really set the tone for who we are. Not long after, we teamed up with Pittsburgh’s A-F Records and put out two more releases: NOFX…And Out Come The Wolves Dookie in 2013, and the Adolf Hipster EP in 2015. After a few tours, festivals, and lineup changes, we linked up with Say-10 Records, who released our third record in 2018. That album stretched us musically and lyrically, with different songwriters bringing new styles to the mix. Now we’re here with Tell My Mom and Dad I Love My Mom on Say-10, which we couldn’t be more proud of and excited to share.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
Depending on who in the band you asked you’d get variations of similar answers that are as generic as a “punk band” to more specific sub genres like melodic hardcore, post-punk, touches of emo, etc.
If someone takes the time to spin our record or show up at a gig, I owe them everything I’ve got. At the end of the day, I just want to write songs I’m proud of, whether it’s for two people or a hundred. I hope people can hear and feel that, and maybe that’s why it resonates.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
The explosiveness of At The Drive-In. The raw power of The Bronx. The catchy heaviness of Drug Church. The swirling atmosphere of My Bloody Valentine. Whenever I need inspiration, I go back to those catalogs.

Your latest Album ‘Tell My Mom and Dad I Love My Mom’ has just been released! What’s it all about? Describe its origin and evolution.
Tell My Mom and Dad I Love My Mom this one feels like us, really leaning into who we are, more confident as songwriters, heavier, more jarring, but still keeping that absurdist streak that’s always been part of the band. We’ve dealt with personal losses, watched the music scene get more toxic, and tried to process the nonstop political chaos around us. All of that’s crept into the songs, whether we meant it to or not.

What are the signature tracks on the album, and which are your favorites to play live?
“Wild Car,” “Defeated,” and “Ain’t No Necking On The New Old Mill.” If I had to pick just one to play live, it’d be “Ain’t No Necking.” That song makes me want to smash my guitar into a million pieces, in the best possible way of course.

You’ll be touring the US for three weeks in November? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
We don’t have the exact dates yet, but it looks like late November through December as main support for Leftover Crack. We’re stoked to hit cities we’ve missed on past tours. We went out with LOC last year and their fans were amazing, super receptive to new music. You could feel the energy build through the set, and it was easy to feed off that and give it back.

What other tours or events are coming up?
We’re at The Fest in Gainesville October 24–26. We’ve got a few more festivals lined up for spring/summer (not announced yet), plus we’re planning a spring Midwest run, Chicago and some surrounding cities we haven’t played yet.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Rick Froberg of Drive Like Jehu and Hot Snakes. No one sounded like him. His distinctive snarl, his sharp lyrics, those deceptively simple melodies that stuck in your head. He was the perfect vocalist. On top of that, he was an incredible visual artist, shaping not just the sound but the look of his bands.

What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them?
I just want to keep writing songs I’m proud of and take them on the road. My dream is to make a record that leaves a crowd with no choice but to stage-dive. I’m hoping TMMADILMM is the one that gets us there. I’ll let you know the first time someone launches off a stage because of our music.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
There’s nothing like sending sound through an amp and watching a crowd move, dance, and scream back at you. That energy loop, us to them, them to us. Just builds song after song. That’s the main reason I keep on playing.
One of my favorite memories was opening at The Metro in Chicago. Early on in that tour we were nervous, and it showed. The headliner’s tour manager pulled us aside and told us, “Take it to the crowd, give them no choice but to go nuts with you.” We did exactly that, lost our minds on stage, and the crowd followed. I’ll never forget that feeling.

WORLDS SCARIEST POLICE CHASES.

About:

Worlds Scariest Police Chases is a punk band from Pittsburgh, PA, delivering riff-heavy, melody-driven chaos with the aggressive precision of a fully unchecked police force. Their songs hit hard with unapologetic commentary, biting snark, and plenty of well-placed puns.

Formed in 2010, the infamous party cops kicked things off with the self-released UNFUCKWITHABLE (2012) before joining Pittsburgh label A-F Records for NOFX…And Out Come The Wolves Dookie (2013) and the EP Adolf Hipster(2015). Their collaboration with Say-10 Records brought Ablum 3 (2022), expanding their sonic and lyrical range while keeping their trademark wit intact.

WSPC has shared stages across the US and Canada with modern punk staples like Suicide Machines, Anti-Flag, Red City Radio, Iron Chic, and more. Their raucous, high-energy live shows have earned them repeated invites to punk’s revered annual pilgrimage, The FEST.

After weathering personal losses, a volatile political climate, and a rotating cast of musicians, the band channels those experiences into their sharpest work yet. Their new record, Tell My Mom and Dad I Love My Mom (out September 26, 2025, on Say-10 Records), blends signature kitsch with darker, punchier themes—perfect for fans seeking grit, humor, and the thrill of punk rock.

WSPC will be touring the US for three weeks starting late November 2025
