Poised to become one of Australia’s most captivating new voices, Jemma Siles is set to step boldly into her own world with the release of her debut EP Scripts of Fate out Friday November 7.
Today she shares her latest offering and third single ‘Never Loved’, an emotional ballad about the fear of opening up and the regret that lingers when you push away the one person who truly cares.

Written in 2019 during an intense week of writing sessions, Jemma Siles channelled her own experience into a song that captures heartbreak, self-reflection and growth. Anchored by vivid lines like “I see the ghost of our love crying everywhere I turn because we never had a funeral” and “I will never love anyone else the way I never loved you,” the track explores the pain of realising it hurts more to have hurt someone else than to have been hurt by them.
Co-written with Cyrus Villa (GO-JO, MAY-A, Charley, Will Hyde, Oliver Cronin) and later finished with producer Xavier Dunn (Jack River, Thelma Plum, Kat Edwards), ‘Never Loved’ became the cornerstone of Siles’ creative confidence and her artistic identity. With Liam Quinn engineering the vocals, Jemma insisted on recording every harmony and ad-lib herself to ensure it became the big, emotional ballad she envisioned. The result is a nostalgic, bittersweet track that evokes first loves and first heartbreaks – a timeless reminder of regret, self-awareness and the promise to never repeat past mistakes.
Known for her crystalline vocals and raw, heart-on-sleeve songwriting, Siles has distilled years of growth, heartbreak and self-discovery into a cohesive body of work. Sonically and lyrically, it moves from intimate ballads to shimmering pop anthems, mirroring the process of breaking open, finding one’s voice and stepping confidently into the light.

‘Never Loved’ explores the regret of holding back love; ‘I Will Always Love You’ reveals the backstory of why those walls were built; ‘Nothing to Fear’ captures the safety and support of true connection; ‘Tell Me All Your Lies’ celebrates being seen without masks; ‘Shouldn’t’ confronts the magnetic pull of unhealthy comfort; and ‘Judgement’ closes the loop with self-reflection and forgiveness.
Previous release ‘Tell Me All Your Lies’ made waves on Australian commercial radio, scoring spins on NOVA FM’s Aus Music Show with Maddy Rowe and HIT Hot Hits with Nic and Loren.
Jemma has already built an impressive track record before releasing her debut EP. She won Australian Pop Songwriter of the Year twice (2018 and 2019) and Australian Ballad Songwriter of the Year in 2020, all judged by APRA AMCOS, highlighting her exceptional writing talent. Her collaboration with international DJ superstars NERVO and Wolfpack on the track ‘Like Air’ has amassed over 3.5 million Spotify streams. Most recently, Siles was named a finalist in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition and a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, cementing her reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting up-and-coming pop artists.
With this release, Jemma Siles is primed to explode onto the scene as a bold new force in pop – weaving cinematic soundscapes, addictive hooks and deeply personal lyrics into a debut that not only announces her arrival but elevates her sound to an entirely new level.
