confirms return for
9th Edition

Pitch Music & Arts is returning for its ninth edition in 2026, taking place 6th – 10th March 2026 on the Grampian Plains beneath Gariwerd (The Grampians). 

The 2026 edition ushers in a new era for Pitch, revealing a reimagined Pitch Black stage design inspired by its previous multi-level iterations and introducing the Pitch Rock Pool swimming space. The festival also welcomes the appointment of Tom Supple, known for his work with Dark Mofo, Rising Festival and Vivid Sydney, as Arts Curator.

Once again, the festival will transform its home in Moyston into a four-day sanctuary of music, art and community, celebrating almost a decade at the forefront of Australian electronic culture and creative experimentation.

The festival released its launch video on social media today (Thursday, 16 October), marking the start of its 2026 campaign, confirming its return to the Grampian Plains and hinting at what’s to come. Inspired by science fiction and early expressionist films, the video explores the beauty in imperfection and the emotion that connects, offering a glimpse into the humanity at the heart of Pitch Music & Arts. The video follows a surreal exchange between a real human and a synthetic counterpart, capturing the tension and intimacy between the organic and the artificial, while closing to electronic powerhouse Charlotte De Witte’s ‘Overdrive’.

The festival will see all three of Pitch’s illustrious stages return in 2026. Pitch One, Pitch Black and the Resident Advisor Stage will again host world-class musical acts across architecturally designed builds and state-of-the-art Funktion One sound systems. 

Architects Ambrose Zacharakis and Henry Howson return as the creative forces behind Pitch One’s brutalist-inspired structure, continuing the design lineage that has framed some of Pitch’s most memorable moments. Pitch Black will reveal a reimagined cage-like structure, reminiscent of the iconic Pitch Black in 2020 stage design. Designed by TOR Studio, Pitch Black will channel the spirit of Berlin’s club architecture & historic amphitheatres. Meanwhile, this year’s Resident Advisor Stage will take on an entirely new direction, welcoming Studio Raito, the acclaimed design collective behind Dekmantel Festival and Waking Life, as stage designers for 2026.

This year’s festival will also see a major new development with the introduction of the Pitch Rock Pool, a swimming space and wellness precinct where cool water meets open air. Designed as an oasis for restoration and reconnection, the new space, located near the Pitch Pavilion, opens a fresh chapter for the festival experience. 

The Pitch Pavilion will once again return to the festival as a space to explore tangible artworks, unwind with performances and immerse in sonic and visual worlds. Featuring ambient sets, wellbeing workshops and a shaded chill space, it offers a haven for restoration and inspiration.

Creative visionary Tom Supple (Dark Mofo, Rising Festival, Vivid Sydney and Perth Festival) debuts as Pitch Music & Arts’ Arts Curator. His curatorial direction will guide the 2026 arts programme, expanding Pitch’s multidisciplinary vision through new commissions and immersive installations. Pitch Music & Arts encourages patrons to immerse themselves in the exploration of artwork, taking moments to pause, engage and discover.

Following several years of operating under a ballot system, Pitch Music & Arts has announced a refreshed approach to ticketing for 2026. The new Register or Reserve system offers the People of Pitch greater flexibility ahead of General On Sale, with the option to either reserve their Pitch ticket immediately or wait to secure it when presale begins. 

Festival passes are available for two, three or four days with general camping included, alongside Premium Camp, Eco Camp and Glamping upgrades. Vehicle Pass packages encourage carpooling and reduced emissions, while Pitch Charter Buses depart from Melbourne’s Carlton Gardens with multiple return options.

As Pitch Music & Arts enters its ninth chapter, the festival continues to push the boundaries of sound, design and community, with its 2026 lineup set to be announced soon.
