Adelaide indie/rock outfit Purée are set to return in their finest form yet, announcing their forthcoming EP What Happens Now? due for release next month. Igniting the spark, the band share new single “Someone You’d Like”, an upbeat release that combines punchy riffs with unfiltered storytelling – an art form the four-piece do best.
Unapologetically themselves, the band’s candid and fun-loving personality shines through all parts of “Someone You’d Like”. Hitting hearts hard with raw lyrics while simultaneously keeping spirits high, the band’s signature brand of rock meets pop keeps us wanting more.
Lead singer Matt Holland talks through the process behind “Someone You’d Like”, “This is one of the first songs we’ve ever written entirely based on a demo sample. Mack was filtering through his numerous folders and we stumbled on this really crunchy demo with just a guitar and some drums. It was the complete opposite to what we were looking for, but somehow exactly what we needed. Something really stuck with us and we collectively decided to see where this song went.
“We all pitched in on the lyrics – a vastly different writing landscape to our usual approach. None of us truly know what this song is about in its entirety, but we kind of like it that way – it’s like there are different pockets of each of our thoughts scattered throughout the song. Every little moment means something different to each person.”

Following “Inspired To Do Nothing” and “GO”, the single is another gem from their forthcoming six track EP What Happens Now?, due for release on Friday 28 November. In support of the EP, Purée will embark on a national tour in early 2026, heading up Jive in Adelaide, The Retreat in Melbourne, Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar in Sydney and Brisbane’s Blues Bar where fans will experience their new tunes in live form.
A tight bond between friends, Purée is made up of members Matt, Jack, Liam and Mackenzie. Generating a wave of buzz with their jangly indie rock pop anthems, Purée have quickly become one of Australia’s most in-demand bands. Deemed “the next big indie band to break out of Australia” by triple j’s Drive host Abby Butler after the release of their single “GO”, the rise of the Adelaide four-piece is on the up. From supporting the likes of Old Mervs, Beddy Rays, Dear Seattle, Dice and loads more, to performing at SPIN OFF Festival, the band have become a powerhouse name across national line-ups, going on to share stages with huge names like Girl In Red, Conan Gray, G Flip and The Last Dinner Party. You can catch them now, currently on tour with Bean Magazine, then opening for Rob Thomas in Adelaide.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
