Eora/Sydney-based R&B artist RISSA today unveils her elegant EP ‘WHERE LOVE ONCE WAS’.
Written across three days with the New Zealand writing team of Edy Liu (producer) and Sam V (songwriter), ‘WHERE LOVE ONCE WAS’ is a journey through all the feelings of a relationship, from start to finish. As she narrates these aches of modern love, RISSA exudes equal parts charm and vulnerability, backed up by skin-tingling harmonies and cosy soundscapes.
“The project is chronologically crafted to step through the chapters of a love story, moving through the newfound interest, to honeymoon feels, heartbreak moments and empowered acceptance. ‘WHERE LOVE ONCE WAS’ is simply a relatable love story captured in its full essence,” explains RISSA.
“For example, focus track ‘ALL I NEED’ pours out all the goodness of a classic R&B love song. Think honeymoon-stage, kicking your feet in the air type feels,” she adds.

‘WHERE LOVE ONCE WAS’ is a tour de force of velvety R&B, drawing sonic comparisons to luminaries Cleo Sol, Mahalia and Snoh Aalegra. The instrumentation and production move through buttery synths, arpeggiating piano, and cinematic acoustics, before arriving at the slow, jazz-infused closer ‘STRANGERS AGAIN’.
Included in the EP will be previous singles ‘FALL OUT’ and ‘FOREVER’, which saw support from NOVA, Hit FM, triple j, triple j Unearthed, Double J, CADA, fbi radio, SYN, and more. With a growing catalogue of heartfelt releases – from her 2023 debut EP ‘Made To Feel’ to recent singles ‘love me right’ and ‘Cinematic Feels’, RISSA continues to carve out a lane defined by emotional depth, vocal finesse, and undeniable soul. Her releases have garnered over 20 million Spotify streams and received extensive support from notable platforms, including Apple Music and Amazon Music.
