On Wednesday 31st December 2025, Perth’s iconic Langley Park will transform into a world-class open-air celebration for the debut edition of SURRENDER NYE – a brand new event set to redefine New Year’s Eve in Western Australia.
Headlining the inaugural event is KAYTRANADA, delivering an exclusive Australian performance for one night only. The GRAMMY Award-winning producer, DJ, and global music visionary will be joined by his brother and frequent collaborator Lou Phelps, promising a night of boundary-pushing electronic and hip-hop fusion against the backdrop of Perth’s skyline and fireworks display.
Few artists have reshaped the sound of modern dance music like KAYTRANADA. The Montreal-based artist first broke through with his viral remix of Janet Jackson’s “If”, and has since become a defining force in global club culture. His debut album 99.9% (2016) earned the Polaris Music Prize and a JUNO Award for Electronic Album of the Year, while his sophomore record BUBBA (2019) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Electronic Albums Chart, taking home two GRAMMY Awards – Best Dance Album and Best Dance Recording for “10%” ft. Kali Uchis.

Following his celebrated Intimidated EP (2021) featuring H.E.R., and the 2023 collaborative album Kaytraminé with Aminé, KAYTRANADA returned with his critically acclaimed 2024 album TIMELESS – praised by Rolling Stone, DJ Mag, and Pitchfork, cementing his status as “dance music’s low-key legend.” His genre-defying blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic grooves continues to shape dancefloors around the world, from Coachella to club nights in Montreal.
Joining him for this special event is Lou Phelps, one of Canada’s most dynamic voices in club-rap. Phelps began making music alongside KAYTRANADA as part of The Celestics, before launching a solo career that merges sharp lyricism with irresistible, rhythm-heavy production. His releases 001: Experiments (2017) and 002 / LOVE ME (2018) – the latter executive produced by KAYTRANADA – showcased his distinct sound and earned him a JUNO Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year.
SURRENDER NYE marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Perth’s live music scene – an immersive experience bringing together world-class artists, cutting-edge production, and a vibrant celebration of electronic culture under the stars.
