About DUXIE FRANKLIN
Melbourne/Naarm based Singer Songwriter Duxie Franklin effortlessly combines elements of Pop, Indie, Alternative and Folk to create her endearing sound. Her unique and catchy melodies draw frequent comparisons to legends such as Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Björk and Gillian Welch.
Duxie Franklin released her second EP, ‘In The Pool, Wasting Time’ on 18 July 2025 with a successful full-band launch show at George Lane, St Kilda. Leading the release was her anthemic single, ‘Wasting Time’ (premiered via The AU Review). Duxie now celebrates the release of the ‘Wasting Time’ music video with a show at Bar Open, Fitzroy, on Sunday 23rd November.
The multitalented artist debuted in 2017 with the release of her single ‘Get A Real Job’. She then followed up with release of several singles that built up to the launch of her debut EP called ‘Watch Your Soul’ in 2020. The EP received positive coverage on Scenestr, Happy Mag and The Soundcheck, whilst securing airplay across the country.
Franklin closed out 2023 with the release of her single and music video ‘Kitschy Coo’. The release was premiered exclusive via Scenestr and received coverage from the likes of Australian Music Scene, AMNplify, The Partae, Subculture Entertainment, The Point Music News and many more. The single was also aired on over 100 radio stations worldwide. She then followed up in 2024 with the release of her single ‘Lucky Charm’, which premiered via AAA Backstage.
Late 2024 saw the release of her Surf-Rock inspired single called ‘Chlorine’, which was the first offering from her second EP.

WASTING TIME
About the song and music video
‘When we were ready to record, the song naturally lent itself to a slightly grungy, rocky, celebratory production style and has resulted in an anthem-feel whenever that chorus hits. It’s very singalong and can get stuck in your head for hours!’
?‘Since ‘Wasting Time’ is about the passage of time and contemplating the ‘worth’ of how we spend our time, I wanted to show that in the music video. I ended up trawling through years of video content that I’ve amassed from live shows, music video shoots and random phone videos from holidays or fun times with friends. It features a lot of behind the scenes footage, mostly taken by my photographer, Chris Cobern, capturing the immense effort and time that I’ve dedicated to my music over the years. Honestly, it’s pretty head-spinning to see all those memories compressed together!”

LAUNCH GIG
Duxie Franklin will be launching her ‘Wasting Time’ music video at Bar Open on Sunday 23rd November, with supports from Cryptics and Remy Sayers. Tickets are $15 + BF or $18 on the door. Doors at 7pm.
