Fresh off the announcement of An Emo Extravaganza, Florida alt-rock icons Anberlin expand their Australian return with two new headline dates in Adelaide and Perth next February and March, celebrating 20 years of Never Take Friendship Personal. They’ll be joined by special guests and Virginia Beach rising stars Broadside. Tickets go on sale Thursday 4 December at 9am local time via Destroy All Lines.
For more than two decades, Anberlin have remained a formidable force in the alt-rock world, boasting a wildly devoted fanbase who’ve come to rely on the cathartic power of their music. This year marks a milestone: the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2005 album Never Take Friendship Personal, which the band will perform in full at all shows down under, plus a healthy spread of fan favourites.
Following the release of their latest album, Nevertake – a reimagined version of their beloved record – Anberlin are entering a new chapter with Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire) stepping in as live vocalist. Fans can expect a rare and nostalgic set that bridges the past and the present. As Scenestr Magazine wrote of their last visit in 2024, “tonight further cements the bond that has transcended generations of Aussies in love with Anberlin’s music,” while The Rockpit praised “the sustained energy of the band, always a trademark, and a wonder to behold.” X-Press Magazine summed it up best: “The entirety of Anberlin’s set served as a testament to their versatility, staying power, and their ability to deliver one of the best live shows in the world.”

Joining them as special guests is Broadside, also performing at An Emo Extravaganza. The band make their long-awaited Australian debut in 2026, bringing with them their glittering brand of emo and pop-rock. Drawing influence from The Killers, AFI, Kings of Leon, and Taking Back Sunday, their evolution has been nothing short of remarkable, taking them from underground favourites to genre staples. Now entering a new chapter with Thriller Records (The Home Team, The Word Alive), the band remain driven by passion, friendship, and the belief that growth is essential.
Both bands will perform at the inaugural An Emo Extravaganza festival next February, uniting a stacked international lineup headlined by Anberlin, alongside Atlanta pop-punk outfit Cartel, American Music Award winners Hot Chelle Rae, Broadside, and acoustic emo duo This Wild Life. The event will launch at PICA Melbourne on Sunday 22nd February, followed by The Roundhouse in Sydney on Saturday 28th February and Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Sunday 1st March. Anberlin and Broadside add Adelaide and Perth to their run, playing The Gov on Monday 23rd February and Astor Theatre on Wednesday 25th February.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
