Six-time Platinum and beloved indie artist Cavetown (Robin Skinner) releases “Sailboat”, a glittering collaboration with Chloe Moriondo and co-produced by Underscores ahead of his album release. Blending chiptune sparkle with warped hyperpop textures, the track captures the nervous excitement of new love, that fragile moment when the desire to protect someone makes you hesitate to leave a mark. Built from friendship, fear of hurting someone you love, and the thrill of emotional vulnerability, “Sailboat” pairs Cavetown’s intimate storytelling with Moriondo’s warmth and Underscores’ glitchy, adventurous production.
Alongside the release, Cavetown shares the official “Sailboat” video, a dreamlike visual set on a quiet beach and co-starring Chloe Moriondo. The video mirrors the song’s emotional palette as the two drift between moments of solitude and connection, miming guitar playing and putting their feet into the water. Cavetown, whose previous albums explored the loneliness of growing up, is finally seen having fun, being vulnerable, and allowing himself to be happy, all throughlines of his forthcoming project, Running With Scissors, which arrives 16 January via Futures Music Group / Virgin Music Group.
Running With Scissors marks a bold and deeply personal new chapter for the trans masc singer-songwriter, diving into themes of emotional stability, identity and growing up. With over 3.7M followers across platforms and billions of streams, Cavetown has become an anchor for a generation of listeners. Running With Scissors is poised to be one of his most expansive and resonant releases yet, blending the lo-fi intimacy his fans love with new layers of sonic experimentation.

Australian fans will have the chance to hear the album live when Cavetown graces our shores in February 2026, appearing nationally at Laneway Festival alongside his own headline sideshows at Enmore Theatre, Sydney on 11 Feb and Palais Theatre, Melbourne on 12 Feb. Head here for tickets.
The release follows Cavetown’s Second Annual This Is Home Project Benefit Show at Music Hall of Williamsburg, supporting LGBTQ+ youth through housing initiatives, mental health resources and crisis support. The long-running philanthropic effort has raised nearly $700k to date, underscoring his continued commitment to community and care.
With “Sailboat”, Cavetown once again proves his ability to transform vulnerability into connection, crafting a song that feels both delicate and daring, a quiet anthem for anyone learning how to love bravely.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
