In 2025 Joey Valence & Brae made their long-awaited Australia and Aotearoa debut, smashing through two sold-out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne and commanding the crowd at Laneway Festival with their trademark energy, enthusiasm, and relentless sonic invention.

2026 tells a very similar story, as JVB return to Australia and New Zealand with their biggest shows yet, bringing their boldest statement to date – their new album HYPERYOUTH. Released late last year and produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by Valence in his State College, PA bedroom studio-meets-Pokémon shrine, the record is a masterclass in evolution and identity. It carries all the hallmarks of JVB’s signature sound – sample-rich layers, boisterous raps, booty-popping bars and EDM-infused grooves – but deeper, sharper and more thoughtful. Featuring heavy-hitting collaborators like JPEGMAFIA, Rebecca Black and TiaCorine, HYPERYOUTH isn’t just an album – it’s a manifesto about growing up without getting old, about preserving that reckless joy even as you’re becoming who you really are.

It feels like just yesterday that Joey Valence & Brae exploded out of the underground and onto the global stage with a sound that combined nostalgic boom-bap energy and hardcore punk bravado with Gen-Z hip-hop flamboyance, all wrapped in nerdcore wit and maximalist production. Their breakthrough single, ‘PUNK TACTICS’, didn’t just go viral, echoing across TikTok and tastemaker playlists – it became an anthem that surfaced in unexpected places across the landscape of pop culture, most recently appearing in a major Street Fighter teaser.
