Penny Drop and Frontier Touring are excited to announce the return of The Dare – bringing his legendary freakquencies club nights to Melbourne and Sydney next month. Returning to play shows across Australia and New Zealand as part of Laneway Festival, The Dare will keep the night going, taking over Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Sunday 8 February and Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday 13 February.
freakquencies is The Dare’s infamous club night: a real “IYKYK” event that helped bring The Dare’s nouveau-bloghouse sound from New York City to the world. But it’s not just Harrison spinning tunes; The Dare always invites some famous friends along for the ride. These exclusive parties in Melbourne and Sydney will be no different: on both nights The Dare will be joined behind the decks by indie darlings Wet Leg (UK) and your favourite new band Geese (US) playing bangers until the lights come on.
“Few people know how to party quite like The Dare” – Russh
Last in Australia in 2024 performing three sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, The Dare returns following an explosive year of sold-out live shows and new music. 2025 saw the multi-hyphenate play sets to record crowds at Coachella and Primavera as well as releasing the sonic counterpoint to his party of the same name, FREAKQUENCIES: VOL 1.
As The Dare’s first ever instrumental release, the four-track project emulates the buzzy club nights, which have become a pillar of New York night life since their inception at the Manhattan basement bar Home Sweet Home.
The latest installment of freakquencies brought 4,000 people to a New York boiler room, followed by a run of dates in Brooklyn – at Public Records, Elsewhere, Knockdown Center and 3 Dollar Bill – a first-ever show in Mexico City and several sets at marquee festivals around the world. Recent nights have seen The Dare team up with guest DJs blood orange, Danny L Harle, Dylan Brady and 2manydjs. In this career-defining era for The Dare – experience freakquencies alongside DJ sets from Geese and Wet Leg.

About THE DARE:
The solo project of vocalist, songwriter and producer Harrison Patrick Smith took the world by storm with the release of his debut album, What’s Wrong With New York?, in 2024, drawing extensive praise from critics and fellow artists alike. The LP, which arrived via Republic Records, features The Dare’s ubiquitous single “Girls” – now a bona fide hit with 52 million streams on Spotify alone – and fan favourites “Perfume” and “Good Time”. He’s spent the months since touring the record across the world, selling out every single show worldwide, with a bevy of festival performances throughout the summer, including sets at Coachella, Primavera Sound, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds and more. The Dare’s legendary DJ sets, honed at his signature downtown Manhattan party freakquencies, have soundtracked parties for Gucci, Celine and Yves Saint Laurent and featured in Rolling Stone, GQ, PAPER and more. Amidst his meteoric rise, he has shared stages and collaborated with the likes of Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Pinkpantheress, Tame Impala and a host of others.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
