On Saturday 27 October, Civic Park in Whyalla will be transformed into the Ability Awareness Festival.
Regional Development Australia Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula’s Disability Workforce Hub will host the free community event to raise awareness and to normalise disability with the support of disability service providers from across the region.
Bronwen Caple, NDIS Workforce Project Manager, said “festival goers will gain access to up-to-date information and have the opportunity to connect and hear directly from over 25 exhibitors. Discover pathways, explore options, but above all, enjoy a day out at this community event full of activities and performances!
“The festival will feature talented local artists including Brie Ryan, Barossa Valley’s Sam Brittain, Adelaide’s favourite classic rock band Finger Bun, Adelaide born hip-hop artist Adrian Eagle off the back of a successful European Tour as well as our very special guest Taylor Henderson, currently touring his newest release who will be closing out the show in style, plus so much more.
“Live music, food stalls, free fun activities and interactive stalls for kids (and adults) and community stalls from local disability services providers, will bring people together through the power of live music regardless of their age, race, gender or level of ability.
“This free community event is accessible and we encourage all people with disability, their families and careers, to come along,” said Caple.
RDAWEP are pleased to bring this event to our region and to represent our local community from across the Eyre Peninsula in doing our bit to make a positive impact on the lives of people with disability.
If you are a disability service provider and would like to be involved please contact Event Coordinator Bronwen Caple on 0417 457 811.
