Currently touring the US across 12 headline dates – today, acclaimed Australian producer Golden Features – releases his highly anticipated sophomore album “Sisyphus” via Warner Music Australia / Foreign Family Collective. Listen HERE.
“Sisyphus” is Golden Features first full-length album in 5 x years and is the result of a restorative and transformative stint in Berlin. Tom Stell – the face behind Golden Features – immersed himself in the city’s renowned techno bunkers and hedonistic clubs, dancing with strangers stripped of phones and returning to the apartment in the early hours to hunt for the tracks he had heard the night before. Stell’s adventure to world’s clubbing mecca followed his 2018 debut album “SECT” and the launch of 2020’s collaborative project BRONSON (with ODESZA), after which he sought time to recoup before creating once again. Four nights a week spent raving came to an end when COVID closed the down the clubs, yet Stell returned to Australia revitalised and most importantly, inspired.

“For this album I wanted to push myself well beyond my comfort zone and try concepts that were unfamiliar to see what I was capable of,” says Golden Features.
Stell’s sophomore album is aptly named after a Greek mythological character who received eternal punishment trying to cheat death. Taking cues from this doomy tale and the heady atmosphere of Berlin’s night life, “Sisyphus” is a sonic elevation of Stell’s signature dark soundscapes and irresistible dance tracks. The 9-track piece traces the highs and lows of killer night out with its dancefloor potency unmatched by the emotional heft. It heralds a quality that we have come to expect from Stell, who in eight years has become one of Australia’s most sought after electronic musicians, collaborating with the likes of The Presets, K Flay, Thelma Plum, Julia Stone and more.
The album lifts previous singles “Flesh”, “Touch” Feat. Rromarin, “Vigil” and “Endit” Feat. Rromarin which have since clocked 6 million+ streams with “Touch” landing the #1 most played on triple j. The highly-awaited record features 5 x new singles including “Yield” Feat. Rromarin, “Vapid” Feat. Louisahhh, “Ether”, “Butch” and “Hound”.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
