Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival, happening from the 14th to the 16th of July, today announces its extensive beverage line-up, featuring some of the country’s best brewers, distillers, wine makers, and everything in between.
Today’s announcement comes off the back of the release of the festival’s headline music lineup featuring the likes of Australian living legends, The Living End, surf rockers Dune Rats, founding member of the Avalanches, Dexter, and punk royalty Magic Dirt.
Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival 2023 (ABBF) will present its most extensive beverage line-up to date with over 80 brewers, distillers, and makers, including 24 producers making their festival debut. Those making their maiden appearance include Bracket Brewing, who hails from the craft beer capital of Australia, the Inner West of Sydney, fellow Sydney Brewery, One Drop Brewing Co., Perth’s Nowhereman Brewery will be making the trip east, while Victorias Co-conspirators Brewing, famed for their unique blend of hops will be at the Showground. One of the newest breweries making their debut is Adelaide based, Tiny Fish Brew, which is quickly making a name for themselves with their microbrews that pack a punch.
Returning, heavy hitting veterans of ABBF include, Banks, (VIC), Mountain Culture (NSW), Fox Friday (TAS) and Range Brewing (QLD), who will be presenting alongside a gluttony of award winning South Australian stalwarts in Big Shed, Uraidla, Bowden and Mismatch to name but a few.
Today’s announcement also comes off the back of the last release which included a very special Australian first Beer Collab with Ukrainian brewery 2085 Brewery, who will be virtually facilitating collaboration brews with a number of Australian breweries that will be available to drink at ABBF.
ABBF is much more than just beer and there really is something for everyone at the 2023 festival. The Gospel, Australia’s first and only Whiskey distillery exclusively dedicated to Rye Whiskey will be making its first appearance at the festival alongside fellow distillers, Storytellers and Mad Monkey, both from SA. Other beverage options include SA wines, from Mollydooker and Tin Shed, Ciders from LOBO and Hills Cider, plus world-class spirits from Dasher +Fisher out of Tassie and SA’s own Heaps Good Spirits.
Big ticket activations are always a hallmark of ABBF and 2023 will be no different. Pirate Life’s Rec Centre is building a reputation as a must-stop location and Pirate Life takes that reputation seriously so is stepping up its game with a huge BMX and skate ramp, with demos from some of Australia’s best BMX riders including four times X games gold medallist Vince Byron, happening all weekend. It will also house a brand-new live music stage, live projection art installation, market stalls and the ever-popular pinball arcade.
Noodle Doof Brewery out of regional Victoria is bringing a ‘Doof Dome’ equipped with a DJ that punters will be able to rave the night away in. Other activations include a ubiquitous Red Tin Tavern (locals will know), the ABBF Dive Bar The Last Resort, Gilbert Street Hotel’s International Container, a giant ‘Keepy Uppy’ space by Heaps Normal, super-sized brewery activations by Prancing Pony, Big Shed and Coopers, and the return of a hidden bar that you will definitely want to find; Secret Pickle Saloon.
Adelaide Beer and BBQ Festival Co-director Aaron Sandow says having so many new and exciting beverage options is a great thing for the festival.
“The brewers are the reason this festival exists. Seeing so many on point brewers from all over Australia assemble under the one roof is what makes ABBF truly the Biggest and Baddest festival of them all.”
Vendor manager, Carrie Sopp, has been blown away in her first year overseeing the beverage line-up “There are so many beverage makers doing so many innovative and interesting things in Australia, and their eagerness to brew something special or one-off for ABBF is awesome, it’s great to have so many of them at the festival and there will be so much stuff that punters haven’t tried before or may not be able to try again.”

Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
