Continuing momentum from her breakthrough EP DUMB, and its follow-up CRAZY—the first two chapters of her shimmering DUMBCRAZYSTUPID trilogy and a playful nod to TLC’s CrazySexyCool—Atlanta rising star AKIA returns to the sound sphere with the highly-anticipated final instalment, the STUPID EP. With this release, AKIA firmly cements her status as one of the most magnetic new voices reshaping today’s R&B landscape.
Hot on the heels of her recent single “Side Bitch SZN”, AKIA is set to unveil three new unreleased tracks as she completes her upcoming EP. Opening with “A Minute”, the project eases in through lush guitar lines and skittering percussion, setting a warm tone before the energy melting into the slowed-down, sultry feel of “Love or Waste”. The atmospheric depth of “How Much Can A Woman Take” closes the EP out in style. With a recent Freedom Songs collaboration with APPLE MUSIC to celebrate Black Music Month earlier this year, and emerging from the same stable that launched Atlanta rap superstars JID and EarthGang, AKIA continues to gain traction across both sides of the Atlantic for crafting some of the most addictive R&B records to surface this year—with critical attention bubbling across the likes of WONDERLAND, BILLBOARD, VIBE and COLORS BERLIN, with WONDERLAND hailing AKIA as a “force in modern R&B”.

With influences spanning Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, Monica and Brandy, the Forrest City, Arkansas-born artist started building a cult following via viral live streams of her stripped-back vocal performances: raw, unfiltered talent that quickly caught fire. Those early moments paved the way for major collaborations with GloRilla and co-signs from heavyweights like Jermaine Dupri, TM88 and Stevie J, before she ultimately signed to Sincethe80s, the powerhouse home of Atlanta stars EarthGang and JID.
Despite being early in her career, the young-star has also already racked up millions of streams. Standout track “DND” sits at a cool 1.8M streams, while fan-favourites “Pajamas” (1.1M all-time streams) and “Back In Bed” (2.5M all-time streams) continue to fuel her momentum.
AKIA’s rise shows no signs of slowing down—her standout performance at J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival only amplified the momentum, sharpening anticipation for her next release.
