Ahead of Albert Lee’s extensive Australian tour and appearances at the Gympie Muster, Melbourne Guitar Show and both the Adelaide and Sydney Guitar Festivals, Public Opinion Music presents a new live album from the man Eric Clapton has called ‘the greatest guitarist in the world. The ultimate virtuoso.’

Albert Lee is “the guitar player’s guitar player,” universally recognized in music circles as one of the worlds finest, as well as one of the top country &  rockabilly guitarists in history. His song “Country Boy” helped to redefine country guitar for a whole generation of players, and was later to become a huge hit for multi-instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs. Humble and self-effacing, he’s played behind Muddy Waters, BB King, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris, Joe Cocker, and Eric Clapton, and he’s shared stages with everyone from Keith Urban and Tommy Emmanuel to Sir Paul McCartney and Keith Richards. He’s also an exceptional singer and band-leader, and has released numerous acclaimed albums under his own name.

“Live at The Idrium”, recorded at the famous New York club, is an action-packed run through a set of fan faves and country and rhythm’n’blues classics that is a close approximation of what Albert will be giving Australian audiences in August. Kicking off with Fats Domino’s statement of intent “I’m Ready”, the set features key tracks in Albert’s repertoire, including the Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris fave “Luxury Liner”, Rodney Crowell’s poignant “Til I Gain Control Again”, the Everly Brothers’ version of Ray Charles‘ “Leave My Woman Alone”, and his own signature tune “Country Boy”.

The album will be worked to country, roots and mainstream media ahead of the August tour.
