Adelaide’s beloved singer songwriter aleksiah has announced her latest single “Batsh*t”, the first taste of new music since her debut EP Who Are You When You’re Not Performing?. Written in only two hours, “Batsh*t” is a high-energy track that sees aleksiah release her inhibitions and embrace spontaneity.
“Batsh*t” is fast-paced, witty and delightfully unhinged, capturing the all-consuming feeling of a crush. With self-control and logic out the window, we’re left with with a track that sounds as fun as it was to write.
aleksiah explains “It’s about being so obsessed with somebody that you lose your sanity and do some questionable things, something I think every person has experienced at least once. I came back a year later to finish off the song and its grown to be one of my new favourites.
Batsh*t is reckless, unserious and fun, three things that I wouldn’t usually describe myself as, but I think I would like to embody a little more between my orthopaedic shoes and 10 pm bedtime. I hope it brings fun and energy to everyone who listens to it.”
“Batsh*t” marks a first time collaboration between aleksiah and Konstantin Kersting who co-wrote and produced by track. Brisbane based Kersting is a highly revered, multi-ARIA award winning producer, songwriter and sound engineer who has worked with a diverse range of artists including Tones and I, Milky Chance, Spacey Jane, The Jungle Giants, DMAs, Mallrat and more.
Fans will have a chance to see “Batsh*t” performed live as part of aleksiah’s ‘You’re Never Getting Rid Of Me’ tour. Playing both regional and CBD venues across the country, the tour is aleksiah’s answer to fans who pleaded for shows in larger venues to satisfy those who missed out on her most recent sold out run. She is set to perform established favourites as well as unreleased music, beckoning a new era of songs and memories for the audience to enjoy.
With a stack of new dates recently added, aleksiah is hitting the road in November, joined by 17 year old Meanjin/Brisbane-raised queer artist Ixaras as support. The tour will take in regional stops including La La Las in Wollongong, King Street Warehouse in Newcastle, Gold Coast’s Vinnies Dive Bar and Solbar in Maroochydore. She will also be hit up metro centres including Melbourne’s The Night Cat, The Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney, The Old Museum in Brisbane and Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory.
aleksiah has just finished up opening for Lime Cordiale on their Australian “Enough of the Sweet Talk” tour this month, along with Ball Park Music, playing to huge crowds in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
LISTEN TO EP WHO ARE YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT PERFORMING?
Fans and industry alike have been all about aleksiah since her debut single “Fern”, with triple j adding follow up singles “Ant Song”, “Pretty Picture” and “24” to full rotation. Named as one of Vogue Australia’s “6 Australian musicians set to take over in 2024”, aleksiah has well and truly made an impression. Her debut EP Who Are You When You’re Not Performing was released in May and has continued to make waves across the music scene.
With Australian artist management company Chugg Music (Lime Cordiale, Teenage Dads) and Copenhagen-based Stellar Music (James Blake, Maximillian), aleksiah’s trajectory is on the up. She has supported the likes of Cavetown (UK), Lime Cordiale and Teenage Dads along with Kita Alexander, Holy Holy, Teenage Joans and more. Acknowledged for her successes to date, aleksiah is nominated for three South Australian Music Awards for 2024 including Best New Artist, Best Solo Artist and Best Release for her EP Who Are You When You’re Not Performing?.
“Batsh*t” is available now wherever you consume great music.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
