Joining triple j for the next two weeks are Alex Lahey and Kwame, as Home & Hosed presenter Declan Byrne hands them the mic to guest host his popular Australian music show.
Lahey and Kwame will dig up the best new Australian music and share their favourite songs, stories and unique insights into the Aussie music scene they are such an important part of.
In less than four years, Alex Lahey has gone from uploading music to triple j Unearthed to playing the biggest stages in Australia, gaining a J Award nomination for her debut album I Love You Like A Brother and legions of fans along the way. Plus, she’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and has a huge passion for and knowledge of the current Australian scene. To have her host Home & Hosed a month before her second album release is a huge coup.
Excited to get stuck into her new role, Alex Lahey says “Home & Hosed was the first show on triple j to ever play my music and I’m so pumped to be sitting in the presenters chair this week to play some of my favourite new Australian tunes!”
Kwame’s meteoric rise started with his Endless Conversations EP and its mega hit ‘WOW’ which saw him open up Splendour In The Grass and scoop up the J Award for Unearthed Artist of the Year. He backed it up on stage with big support slots alongside Peking Duk and Tkay Maidza and continues to own the stage with his energy and positivity. He’s at the forefront of a seriously good local hip hop scene and we can’t wait to hear what nuggets he drops during his week hosting Home & Hosed.
On getting the call up, Kwame exclaims “I’m beyond excited to be hosting Home & Hosed! I cannot wait to share the music I’m loving in Australia as well as connecting with the nation through sonic vibes! We’re about to create a moment!”
Kicking off tonight, Alex Lahey is presenting Home & Hosed from 9pm Mon 8 – Thurs 11 April, followed by Kwame from 9pm Mon 15 – Thurs 18 April. Tune in and score a musical education from two of Aussie music’s finest.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
