With the effervescent electro-bop ‘Close To You’ Feat. Flint Eastwood still ringing around our brains, Melbourne producer Alice Ivy is already back with a new killer collaboration for us to soak up. Having teamed up with fellow Melbourne artist, Ecca Vandal, the duo has delivered the hypnotic new single, ‘In My Mind,’ that is destined to soundtrack / elevate your next trip.
Featuring Ivy’s signature atmospheric and other-worldly production style – combined with the chameleon-like vocals Vandal brings to everything she touches, ‘In My Mind’ captures both artists at their electrifying best, elevating their games to a whole new realm and producing a track that is mesmerising from start to finish.

To celebrate the new release, Ivy and Vandal have also dropped a psychedelic new video featuring the two friends dancing around Australia’s largest cactus garden. The video was directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, who recently co-directed the essential documentary, Her Sound Her Story, which focusses on the female experience within the Australian music industry.
“The first time I saw Alice Ivy perform, I was taken by her movement on stage,” says Sangiorgi Dalimore. “It was so liberated. Full of joy, so connected to the music without inhibition. I wanted to capture that essence on film. To me the sound of ‘In My Mind,’ feels like floating through a colourful landscape inside the imagination.”

“When I began writing ‘In My Mind,’” explains Alice Ivy, “I was picturing myself as a 10-year-old child riding my bike through the park in summer holding an ice cream in one hand. I wanted to create that exact same exciting feeling of the endless summer holidays and with nowhere important to be. The only way to relive that feeling for me at the moment is through songwriting. I was super stoked that Ecca Vandal really loved the song and wanted to play a part on it, her vocals and the instrumentation are a perfect match”.
“I had so much fun writing this one with Annika,” says Vandal. “It just makes me wanna bliss out and sip cocktails in the sun!”
Having released her debut album I’m Dreaming in February 2018 (which was nominated for the Australian Music Prize), electronic producer Ivy has performed worldwide, including Australian national tours with Flight Facilities, Vera Blue & The Jungle Giants, SXSW 2018, Falls Festival and Splendour In The Grass.
Alice Ivy’s eclectic sound spans sample-influenced soul, hip-hop and electro pop, which she brings to life live as a multi-instrumentalist. She’s now poised to take her show on the road, supporting Melbourne groove merchants Northeast Party House on their national Magnify Australian tour. Tickets for those shows are set to go on sale Thursday, July 11 at 9am. Dates and details below.
With four past singles on high rotation at triple j and an ever-growing reputation for her explosive live performances, Alice Ivy is fast becoming recognised as one of Australia’s most versatile and exhilarating artists.
‘In My Mind’ is available now via Dew Process/UMA (AU/NZ) and Last Gang records internationally.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
