This Friday 8 March is International Women’s Day and we’re proud to be bringing you Girls To The Front for the fifth year running!
Across triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed, we’re celebrating the achievements of all women by playing music made by women and curated by women all day long. At the helm we’ll have more than 20 powerhouse ladies presenting your favourite programs, interviewing guests and sharing their stories. Joining us for the day are guests like Alison Wonderland, Judith Lucy and Flint Eastwood who have each got something special in store for you.
On triple j you’ll be hearing from hosts Sally & Erica with Alice Matthews on Breakfast, Linda Marigliano on Mornings, Lucy Smith on Lunch, Veronica & Friends including Odette, Jess Perkins and more on Drive, Jo Lauder on Hack, Bridget Hustwaite on Good Nights and finally Alison Wonderland is taking over the studio from 10pm with Friday Night Wonderland.
triple j’s Assistant Music Director Gemma Pike and Music Researcher/Producer Karla Ranby will be programming music by female-identifying artists throughout the day and you’ll hear a Like A Version from Flint Eastwood.
triple j Hack’s Ange McCormack will also be analysing the status of women in the music industry with her annual Women in Music report, now in its fourth year.
On Double J Mornings, Zan Rowe will kick off Double J’s Girls To The Front programming with a very special Take 5 with Christine and the Queens, then Kate Ceberano and Kaiit are In Conversation, sharing their experiences of life and the music industry and their favourite tunes, before ex-triple j Ladies Lounge presenter Judith Lucy takes over for Liquid Lunch, Karen Leng transforms party music show The Funhouse into The Femmehouse and Okenyo guest presents Double J’s hip hop, soul & groove show Sky High. Double J’s music will be curated by the station’s Music Director Dorothy Markek.
From 1pm triple j Unearthed will be broadcasting live sets from all Aussie, all female-identifying artists as part of their “Dream Festival” – an imaginary festival featuring triple j Unearthed’s ultimate line-up of new and old favourites from across the years. The fest will be hosted on air by triple j Unearthed’s Celline Narinli and Claire Mooney, and The Hook Up’s Nat Tencic. Music on the station across the day will be programmed by Music Producer Claire Mooney.
It’s gonna be an epic 24 hours, keep up with all the action at triplej.net.au.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
