Producers of the ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE concerts at the Sydney Opera House on January 1 and 2, 2024 announce today that the Beatles new song Now and Then will be performed live when the popular show returns to the iconic Sydney venue next week.
Musical Director Rex Goh said today: “Released less than two months ago we are excited to perform Now and Then a song which took the Beatles 40 years to make.”
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE vocalists are Rai Thistlethwayte, Jack Jones (aka Irwin Thomas), Jackson Thomas and Ciaran Gribbin accompanied by 40 musicians and singers including a full orchestra and rock band.
Producers Phil Bathols and Tim Woods said today “It is only fitting that we include this song to start the New Year along with so many timeless Beatles masterpieces. Just as satellite technology enabled the Beatles to reach out to the World in 1967 with All You Need is Love, and AI technology enabled the surviving Beatles to complete Now and Then recently so too has sophisticated audio equipment technology enabled us to present a more faithful and authentic live performance in the superb new acoustic environment of the Opera House Concert Hall.”
“We have a fine team who we are confident can do the song justice and we hope you enjoy it. The Beatles, Now and Then and Forever!”

THEN: 25 June 1967
The very first Global Satellite Broadcast linked 400 million viewers in 25 countries. To celebrate this game changer in communications technology each country broadcast a few minutes of special content in real time. In the show called Our World the UK’s contribution was a performance of All You Need is Love a new song by the Beatles penned by John Lennon and inspired by the Summer of Love and featured magnificent Orchestral arrangement by George Martin.
NOW: 4 November 2023
The Beatles release a new (and Last song), Now and Then, originally penned by John Lennon in 1977, a Beatles recording only made possible in 2022 by the game changing technology of AI which permitted the extraction of John’s Voice from a cassette demo and with the addition of contributions made by all 4 Beatles in later 1990’s recording sessions. Now and Then features a haunting and ethereal orchestral arrangement by Giles Martin, the son of George Martin (the Beatles long time recording producer and arranger) Since then the “Beatle-verse” has gone into overdrive with raptures of excitement and the official Beatles Video clip of Now and Then has been viewed some 40 million times.
AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
