‘TRIED TO FORGET ABOUT’

Brisbane-based electro-pop duo, Alta Falls, is taking you on a trip down memory lane with their nostalgic and energetic new single that’ll have you shuffling your feet instead of your playlist.
The tune melds a danceable shuffle beat, vintage synths, and emotive lyrics. It’s all punctuated with silky smooth harmonies that feel like verses from a ballad, artfully injected into an 80s synth dream.

“The song was originally written in a folky style,” explains lead singer Nathanael. “One night we played it on a TikTok livestream, and our followers instantly connected with the song and asked us to record it. From then on, it was requested on every stream, so we thought we’d better get onto it.”
“We took the song to our producer Aidan and asked, ‘How on earth can we turn this folk song into an 80s banger?’” explains the other half of Alta Falls, Matt. “Aidan weaved his magic, as he always does, and we couldn’t be happier with the final mix.”
The song tells the story of Nathanael’s childhood friend. They used to ride their pushbikes around the Western suburbs of Brisbane and write songs together.
“I wrote one of my very first songs with her – I have such fond memories of that time of my childhood, and the song transports me back there whenever I play it,” recalls Nathanael.
Once again, the duo have teamed up with producer Aidan Hogg (G Flip, Jaguar Jonze, Holy Holy) and drummer Sebastian ‘Baz’ Jennings Hingston (Tia Gostelow) for the new single.
Since the release of their debut EP, Alta Falls has been on an upwards trajectory. From a personal endorsement from the OG Yellow Wiggle (Greg Page) to hitting over 100,000 followers on TikTok, it’s been win after win. One of the biggest wins was the duo receiving their first plays on triple j for ‘Trust Me’ via Home and Hosed with Declan Byrne, Good Nights with Bridget Hustwaite, and Late Nights.
“This is a really good love song. It’s kind of cruisy, but then also has these nice rushes and these 80s touches. It’s a duo from Brisbane; they’re called Alta Falls. And if you like Holy Holy, you’ve got to get around these guys and this song. It’s up on triple j Unearthed, and it’s a good one called ‘Trust Me’.” — Declan Byrne, triple j
This new release comes hot on the heels of a successful national tour in late 2022, and is the next taster from their highly anticipated second EP. If the first few releases are anything to go by, their new EP is set to be an electro-pop delight. Their signature synthy charm, insightful lyricism, and danceable beats are sure to captivate listeners once again.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
