Originally from Melbourne, singer-songwriter, Jason Winston is releasing his second single, Yarra. Inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean, Sza, Troye Sivan, Drake and James Blake he makes music that fuses dance, pop and contemporary R’n’B with a taste for lyrical authenticity.
Yarra unpacks the complicated beginnings of a relationship. ‘…after a couple of months of seeing each other we hadn’t got to spend a night with each other yet. This song reflects on that night in Melbourne. I wrote it a couple of months after the fact when I found myself overwhelmed with the dynamics of the relationship. I wanted to capture the limitless nature of my connection with this man.’
Produced by Sam Lloyd and recorded by Yogi at Everland Studios, Yarra perfectly translates how commanding and exciting connections of this magnitude can be. An emphatic bed-rock of piano and club-ready rhythms give rise to tingling arpeggios of anticipation and Jason’s clear-eyed presence in the face of potent attraction.
In 2018, Jason Winston was part of the line-up for Fringe Ignite, and played a sold out solo show at Sydney’s Kings Cross Hotel. Recently he performed for Pop Cherch at Knox St Bar in Sydney. He spent his early twenties working as an actor, graduating from NIDA in 2013. His ‘attention stealing debut’, Foreverland was described as a ‘life-affirming sonic gem’ and received spins on Radio Adelaide and 5GTR.
As a performing artist Jason Winston has worked in theatre, tv and has an album in the works, set for release later this year. Yarra opening the stage for impassioned energy and songs filled with wonder.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
