Not to stray from their Blues and Roots origins, Woodshed’s latest musical releases meld a unique blend of sonic goodness to accompany tales of observations and experiences. The group of Brisbane locals are riding the music wave and releasing their latest track, “Secrets”, on March 25.
“Secrets” was recorded at The Barn Recording Studio in Plainlands, QLD, with mixing and mastering by Steve Robin. The song explores more subtle textures compared to previous Woodshed material. Predominantly driven by the melody, each musician has added their own individual stylings to produce a musical piece that is both accessible and memorable.
“‘Secrets’ is a song that explores vulnerability and the importance of being able to share with that special someone your deepest, darkest secrets and desires without fear of rejection,” explains vocalist Russ Napier.

The unexpected offspring of a drunken, one-night jam, Woodshed has finally grown up. Long celebrated for their raucous, blues-rock and cowpunk roots, they’re preparing to release new music in 2022. In true ‘woodshedding’ fashion, the band has been honing their sound and exploring more subtle shades. Live audiences who have sampled Woodshed’s latest offerings have been treated to a blend of layered grooves and heartfelt lyricism, inspired by the blues and country artists of yesteryear. While the varnish may still be drying on their new tunes, established Woodshed fans will recognise the familiar grain of its hedonistic past.
The band’s successes already include performing the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival (Busking Stage), Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival, Ewingar Bushfire Appeal Festival, Chinchilla Melon Festival, and Airlie Beach Festival of Music. With their upcoming release, 2022 is looking bright for this crew!
“SECRETS” is out March 25

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
