The track was birthed and recorded in their own studio The Cabin where they live in Mount Pleasant, Queensland. Bast N Move produced and recorded the track themselves handing the track over to Oscar Dawson from  Holy Holy to do the final mix and Matt Redlich to master. Ben and Sabrina equally collaborated on this track, building on Ben’s original drum and bass idea.  Both contributing to the programming, beats and synth ideas, creating the electronic soundscapes, building and mashing the sounds to suit each different section.

Sabrina describes the song writing process as “We wrote Violet at our own studio ‘The Cabin’ in Mount Pleasant where we live.  It is truly is as magical as it sounds.  When Ben was first diagnosed with Glioblastoma, we made the decision right away to move to wherever we could find a house as close to nature as possible, finding a humble cottage nestled in the Valley between Mount Mee and the D’aguilar Ranges right by a freshwater creek.  As Ben recovered from surgery and started on a long course of radiation and chemotherapy, each day we would focus on writing music, building on his drum and bass ideas and forming songs in response to what we were going through, which in hindsight was a damn lot harder than either of us could have imagined.  Being able to channel our thoughts and emotions into these songs and have songwriting as a creative focus each day, really was the therapy to making it through in those gruesome months.”
