“Clouds” – a jazz-infused, loose reflection on human nature, existence, transience, and escapism, centered by an anthemic, brass-laden hook – is the latest single from Western Australian emcee, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Fear. It was released with his debut full-length record – Beast in Your Porridge – via Digital Service Providers on the 17/07/20.
JJJ’s Dave Ruby Howe has called the track: “a proper bar fest from Ben Fear and his rubbery vocab”, and the song has been played on over 50 radio stations around Australia. ‘Clouds’ features co-production from Harvey Fresh, Chil Collins, and Matt Gio (Rudimental, Abbe May, San Cisco, Marksman Lloyd), as well as studio performances from rhythm section Josh Ellis and Josh Terlick (of Alter Boy).
The music video for “Clouds” is a whimsical, collage-style, animated short, created by local designer and illustrator Jake Quodling. 28/08/20 is the date set for the video’s premiere, which will be online and via the good folks at Amnplify.
Ben Fear first made a name for himself in the Australian music scene as part of hiphop/roots/electronica juggernaut The Brow/Brow Horn Orchestra, in which capacity he was the recipient of multiple WAMi and PDMA awards. He cut his teeth playing support slots for the likes of Arrested Development, Public Enemy, and De La Soul, and has performed at festivals such as BigSound, Groovin’ The Moo, Pyramid Rock, Future Music Festival, and Beerfest Asia (Singapore).

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
