“Cry Baby may just be a newcomer you will fall head over heels in love with.” — Thomas Bleach
Breakups suck. And with Valentine’s Day round the corner, Cry Baby has you covered with the perfect anti-valentine song, Best Of Luck which dropped Friday, 12 February.
Cry Baby sure knows how to turn a sad breakup song into a cool af bop, with dreamy pop synths, 808 beats and lyrics that’ll help you say, ‘bye Felicia, best of luck with that.’
“This song is about that moment when you realise that your mental health and happiness is way more important than the love you feel for someone, so you choose to walk on by and wish them luck,” said Bek Winnett, the Sunshine Coast artist turning the time-old insult ‘Cry Baby’ into her superpower.
“Girls are conditioned to believe that someone wanting and loving us is the be all and end all, so we tend to lose ourselves in the other person and hang on too long! It can be really hard, but it’s empowering to choose yourself and leave the relationship.”

Written about the ex she started dating on Valentine’s day, Cry Baby said, “Not to throw shade on love, but Best of Luck is a great anti-V Day song for people who are going through a breakup or are single on this ‘day of love’. I still find Valentine’s Day tough, and want others to know they’re not alone in their heartache.”
Following her catchy self-titled debut, this is the second single from Cry Baby’s breakup concept EP, which is due for release this year and features production by her brother, Judah Winnet and collaborations with AYLA, Christian Patey and Lunar Phase.
Whether it’s a bouquet or a box of tissues you’ll be reaching for this Valentine’s Day, Best Of Luck will make you want to cry, dance – and most importantly – not care who’s watching!

BIO
Cry Baby is for the emotional freaks who want to cry and dance – and not care who’s watching! Where insult once led to injury, the name ‘Cry Baby’ is a moniker that Sunshine Coast alt pop artist, Rebekah Winnett, now wears as a badge of honour. A fresh project, this is a songwriter who knows how to turn a sad breakup song into a cool as fuck bop with memorable lyrics, gripping vocals and punchy production.
Cutting her teeth busking in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, Cry Baby’s debut is born from a collaboration with brother and producer, Judah Winnett, and triple j faves, Christian Patey, AYLA and newcomer, Jye Pouzet (Lunar Phase).
Taking you on a journey through the good, the bad and the ugly sides of heartbreak, Cry Baby’s brand of alternative pop will have you moving to the beat and empowered to embrace your inner ‘Cry Baby’ once and for all!

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
