The Handpicked Festival is set to host some of the biggest names in Australian music, when indie pop sensation Amy Shark, powerhouse John Butler, nine-time ARIA award winner Missy Higgins, compelling singer-songwriter Odette, soul and blues masters The Teskey Brothers and funk, hip hop favourites Winston Surfshirt take to the stage at Langhorne Creek’s Lake Breeze Wines on Saturday the 9th of November, 2019.

Touted as one of Australia’s most inspiring music exports, after topping the charts with her album Love Monster, Amy Shark will take to the stage at this year’s Handpicked Festival.

Shark rose to fame with her breakthrough single Adore in 2016, which topped the ARIA charts, Triple J’s Hottest 100 and broke into the US Billboard charts peaking at 35.

Known for her energy, engaging smile and love of swearing, Shark is set to captive fans with her sleek, synth-pop sounds from award winning albums, Night Thinker and Love Monster

 “Amy Shark brings such a warm, relatable energy to the Handpicked Festival. She loves what she does and gives her all in a transparent, sincere way,” said Handpicked creator Kate Cooper.

With a career spanning more than two decades in the music industry and four platinum albums under his belt, John Butler, will get the crowd on its feet when he takes to the stage.

Since forming the John Butler Trio in 1998, the Aussie roots singer has recorded five studio albums, with Sunrise Over Sea, Grand National and April Uprising all reaching number one in the Australian charts.

“John brings a unique, live solo show. He is unique, he entertains and educates. Pay close attention to this man, he will leave you wanting more,” said Kate Cooper.

Five-time chart topper and nine-time ARIA Award winner, Missy Higgins is set to put Handpicked crowds under a spell with her irresistible melodies from award winning albums, The Sound of White, On a Clear Night, The Ol Razzle Dazzle, Oz and new album Solastalgia

The Australian singer-songwriter, became a household name back in 2004 but she enjoyed a huge 2018 touring stadiums with Ed Sheeran, landing her biggest hit in years with “Futon Couch”, anchoring an ABCTV live special and co-headlining two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House forecourt.

“Missy Higgins is a confident, exceptionally talented female musician. It is a real honour to have her on the Handpicked stage in our backyard,” said Kate Cooper.

Also hitting the festival is singer-songwriter, Odette, who sparked a legion of fans with her highly acclaimed debut album, To A Strangerwhich resulted in a record 30 million steams, two consecutive Triple J 100 entries and two ARIA nominations.

Odette will bring a melting pot of culture and influence to the Handpicked Festival and her worldly-wise and astute songwriting is set to strike a chord with fans.

With a raw combination of soul and blues, Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers comprising of brothers Sam and Josh Teskey, along withchildhood friends Brendon Love and Liam Gough are sure to enchant Handpicked crowds.

Just as The Teskey Brothers prepare to release their second album Run Home Slow this month, their 2017 debut album Half Mile Harvest made a sudden appearance at number five on the US iTune charts.

“These guys bring soul and deliciousness! They honour the old Motown and turn it into their own, leaving your heart warm and infected with soul and blues,” said Kate Cooper.

Sydney band, Winston Surfshirtwill bring a unique blend of soul and hip-hop to the line up, with hits, Be About Youand Ali D.

The band is fresh from supporting RÜFÜS on their Australian tour and Midnight Oil at their comeback show before their world tour.

Singer song-writer, Kyle Lionhart, who honed his craft busking on the beachfronts of Byron Bay, will bring his soul and folk tunes to the grounds of Lake Breeze.

Indie pop artist, Jess Day, finishes off the list, bringing her infectious, melodic hooks to her home town crowd of South Australia.

The boutique festival is a complete sensory experience, showcasing Lake Breeze’s award-winning wines, food trucks serving delicious local produce and a diverse range of local arts, crafts, jewellery and home wares at The Lane.

Festivalgoers can party well into the night with Handpicked extending its Tent Citywith space for up to 1500 campers at just $15 per person and even an opportunity for some to indulge in ‘glamping.’
