“You’ll know Anthony Forrest via his role as frontman and songwriter for the much-loved Brisbane reggae/dub outfit Kingfisha. Anthony is doing his solo artist thing this time around and spinning a different kinda groove. Something that’s more on the old Soul electro tip, and it doesn’t disappoint.” – 4ZZZ
“Focused on a different kind of groove to Kingfisha, Forrest is exploring a soul-bass tip that’s sprinkled in electronic production that emphasises his ethereal vocals that are imbued with a spiritual quality.” – SCENESTR
“Renowned as the frontman and guitarist of Brisbane’s breakthrough reggae/dub group Kingfisha, Deepest Love is Forrest’s first solo release. Flirting the line across genres, with hip-hop undertones, rolling electronica melodies, and Forrest’s silky-smooth vocals, the electro soul track with nods to 90’s producer J Dilla, and a down tempo Fat Freddy’s Drop is a new and exciting direction for the renowned vocalist.” – HI FI WAY
“The bass-heavy track begins with Anthony’s smooth vocals over a simple yet groovy r&b-type beat. The blend of synths with the soothing, soulful nature of the track is quite interesting. It almost feels like it shouldn’t work, but it definitely does! The electronics add an additional color that makes “Deepest Love” more vibrant and alluring.” – SINUSOIDALMUSIC

Brisbane/Meanjin artist Anthony Forrest has dropped his soothing synth-laden electro-soul single ‘Get There (feat. Laneous)’, celebrating with a run of shows in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Byron Bay (dates below). Laneous will also be appearing at the live shows.
Forrest has been a prominent figure in the Australian music scene for many years, garnering a reputation as a formidable singer and songwriter for reggae/dub act Kingfisha who won Triple J Unearthed Roots and a Queensland Music Award, touring the world extensively over a 10 year period. Forrest was recently shortlisted in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition for his solo work.
Laneous’ tenures over the past several years have included stints with Laneous & The Family Yah, Kafka, Kooii and Vulture St Tape Gang, and has also featured on tracks for a myriad of artists including Thundamentals & Sampology.
Speaking about the new single, Forrest said “Get There came together when I was at a low point but always had faith that I could push on through and turn things around… essentially it’s a song about hope and showing what I can do with actions and not words.”
Collaborating with West End producer Peet Gardner (So Soap Studios) the two artists have mixed their talents, combining Peet’s cutting edge production and Anthony’s compositions to create their distinctive Soul/Electro sound.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
