Beloved national music icon, Archie Roach has today shared his rescheduled NSW tour dates and due to his declining health has advised it will be his last road tour of NSW. Adding two QLD shows to the run, the tour will now take in Civic Theatre in Ipswich on April 1 and Princess Theatre in Brisbane on April 3, on sale from Friday 28 Jan, 8am QLD time. Head HERE for more information and tickets. All tickets purchased for the postponed shows will be honoured for the rescheduled dates, without need for exchange, and ticketholders are able to get a refund from place of purchase.
“This is the fourth reschedule of this tour over the past year or so. My health is my biggest challenge and coming to NSW in March/April will be my final NSW road tour. I am so grateful that everyone has held onto their tickets waiting for these shows to go ahead. Thank you.”
A Maar Nation Elder, Archie is incredibly proud to launch the inaugural Archie Roach Foundation stage on Peek Whurrong country in south west Victoria, thanks to a very special partnership with the Port Fairy Folk Festival. Archie explains the importance and cultural significance of the Maar Nation community sharing culture which has existed for well over sixty thousand years with Port Fairy Folk Festival audiences. “For me personally, it’s huge! I was taken away as a child from my mother’s country when I was just two years old. To return to my community and be able to present our culture on the ARF Stage would not have happened if I had not found my way back to my people.”
Curated by Archie and members of the Maar Nation, the stage shines a wholehearted spotlight on both emerging and established First Nations musicians from across Australia. It will host a series of community-led traditional dance, art and songwriting workshops, curated conversations, storytelling, a yarning circle plus an on stage ‘Kitchen Table Yarn’ with Archie and some very special young guests. Hear Kutcha Edwards, Emma Donovan, The Merindas, Shellie Morris, Amos Roach, Kee’ahn, Lee Morgan, Nola Lauch, MRLN X RKM (Rulla Kelly-Mansell, Marlon Motlop and band), the Singing Our Futures collective and NT rapper J-MILLA and remote West Arnhem Land up and comers, Black Rock Band. Head HERE for information.
The Archie Roach Foundation stage is proudly supported by the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative.

Archie would also like to introduce J-MILLA as the next guest sharing the sixth episode of Kitchen Table Yarns – his twelve-part YouTube series initiated to support emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander singer songwriters. Chatting via Zoom at Archie’s kitchen table, the episode will go live on the Archie Roach YouTube channel at 5PM AEDT on Survival Day, Wednesday January 26.
Archie poignantly explains, “To me Survival Day recognises the struggles that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have endured since colonisation. It’s also a day where we celebrate our culture and our resilience. We are still here and getting on with our lives through our culture. It’s a day to celebrate not just our survival but our living.”
Also winning the 2021 Archie Roach Foundation (ARF) NIMA, Archie has been keeping a close eye on J-MILLA for a while now, saying, “J-MILLA is an exciting rapper from the NT. I love his work. I reckon he’s one of the best rappers I’ve heard. In a way J is a lot like me, he raps about everything from the injustices facing First Nations people to love songs and songs about life in general.”
Equally enthusiastic is J-MILLA, saying, “Since I won this prize, I’ve had so many opportunities including being invited to perform at the ARF stage for emerging artists at Port Fairy Folk Festival in March. It’s been a blessing to know that Uncle Archie has my back and is excited for me and my career. He had nothing but kind words and motivation throughout the whole yarn and he inspired me to keep on keeping on. I can’t wait to meet him face to face”.
The online series will feature 12 emerging First Nations songwriters and musicians from around the country. Earlier episodes have featured Allara Briggs Pattison, Rulla Kelly Mansell and Marlon Motlop, Lydia Fairhall, Kee’ahn and Black Rock Band. Connecting through online video, Archie will continue to invite these exceptional young artists to yarn with him at his kitchen table to share stories about their songs, their communities, and their language.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
