Melbourne based duo, Teeny Tiny Stevies have dropped their highly anticipated fourth album How to be Creative, via ABC Music. Watch album trailer HERE.
Featuring their singles How Am I Different and Collaborate, alongside feature track Dance, the record is a ten-song masterclass not just in embracing the creative urge but also overcoming self-doubt, trying new things, learning from mistakes, working with others, and the superpower that is perseverance. It breaks down the concept of creativity and takes us through the journey of how creativity is achieved.

Sisters Byll and Beth have explored new ground lyrically and musically on this release and as parents of small children they share an understanding and familiarity of conversations between kids and parents. Byll explains, “We love the idea of using some words that kids of a certain age may not have come across yet, and that concept is prominent on this album. If our songs spark a conversation between a parent and child where a child asks ” what does ‘unique’ mean?” then we have achieved what we set out to do.”
Beth concurs, “We enjoy pushing the boundaries of what’s expected within the “kids music” world and proving we can pull off this genre, both musically & aesthetically, in a way that feels completely natural and normal to us.”
The album’s message isn’t exclusive to kids either. Inspiration is in abundance on this album, and the message conveyed is – it’s never too late to start. “I feel like there’s also a generation of adults our age who maybe weren’t as encouraged to be as creative as they could’ve been” says Byll. “So I like the idea of a mum or dad listening to these songs and going ‘you know, I should do that too!’”
There’s also a level of sophistication around the music and lyrical content here that makes them stand out within the “kids music” landscape, breaking new ground in the way that music can be digested by families, and enjoyed equally by a cross generational audience.
In addition to the album release, Byll and Beth have been shortlisted for an Australian Book Industry Award in the Children’s Picture Book of the Year category for their book ‘Boss of Your Own Body’ out now via Harper Collins. The award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 9th June in Sydney.
Tickets to the band’s How to be Creative national tour are also on sale now and thanks to the Australian Government’s RISE Fund, regional locations often omitted in tour routing have been included. The tour kicks off in Darwin on July 2 and winds up with four triumphant shows at Sydney Opera House on October 8 and 9.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
