Norwegian artist AURORA has returned with her second single for the year, the simultaneously ethereal and ground-shaking new song “The Seed”. The track is taken from the upcoming conclusion to AURORA’s ambitious double LP release, A Different Kind Of Human (Step II) which follows on from Infections Of A Different Kind (Step I) in 2018.
“The Seed” contrasts heavily with AURORA’s lead single and sees her head in a more minimal and paired back direction, more akin to her debut album All My Demons, Greeting Me As Friends than the frenetic and pop-centred “Animal”. The track’s lyrics are dreamy and emotionally sophisticated, touching on the destruction of the natural world by human kind, and the untold damage done in the pursuit of greed and money. Sparse instrumentation blends orchestral elements with electronic splashes and a commanding tribal percussion.
After the huge success of “Animal”, which was premiered and added to high rotation on triple j, and featured on Apple Music’s Best Of The Week Playlist, AURORA will be touring Australia throughout April and May, both on the Groovin’ The Moo line-up, and with her own headline gigs.
Born near the city of Bergen, AURORA began writing music and lyrics at a young age, releasing her debut single “Awakening” in 2013, following up with “Under Stars” with led her to be signed by American label Glassnote Records. AURORA came to further prominence in 2015, as she covered Oasis’ track “Half the World Away” for the John Lewis Christmas ad before following up with the release of her debut album “All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend”, which charted at number one in Norway and across Western Europe. She released Infections of a Different Kind (Step I) in 2018, as the first part of the two album release, and A Different Kind of Human (Step II) is set to be released in March.
“The Seed” is available for purchase and streaming on all platforms now!

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
