Sam Fischer has continued his meteoric global rise with a stunning rooftop rendition of ‘This City’ on US television program The Ellen DeGeneres Show. This most recent performance completes a trifecta of TV performances for Fischer, who previously performed ‘This City’ on both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Fischer, an Australian born singer/songwriter who is now based in Los Angeles, has been ascending charts all over the world thanks to the success of ‘This City’. This past week ‘This City’ was officially ARIA certified Platinum whilst also celebrating a mammoth four consecutive weeks at #1 the ARIA Australian Artist Singles chart. Locally, ‘This City’ also climbed its way right up The Music Network’s Hot 100 Airplay Chart, peaking at the #2 position whilst also holding the #1 position on The Music Network Hot 100 Australian Artists Airplay chart for five consecutive weeks.
‘This City’ shows no signs of slowing down with Fischer releasing a series of remixes over the past month, featuring Anne-Marie, Kane Brown, Nea, Nico Santos and Camilo. Affectionately known as the These Cities Project, Sam says “The ‘These Cities Project’ is my way of thanking everyone for giving me the life I have now through their love and support of the song. I wanted to bring together artists from different cities across the world who I love and have them put their own experience/perspective into the second verse. I’ve received so many incredible messages about what ‘This City’ means to people and so it’s my hope that with each version, you’ll be able to see and feel yourself in them.”
‘This City’ took flight earlier this year due to a groundswell building for the track on TikTok which has since seen more than 1.7 million unique creations on the platform, resulting in over 1 billion total views.
In late January Sam unveiled the official video for ‘This City’, which was produced by up and coming director Kimberly Stuckwisch and uses interpretive dance to show the lonely side of life in Los Angeles.

Fischer has been honing his craft for many years now, writing for some of the worlds most respected artists (Ciara, Louis Tomlinson, Jessie J) whilst also heading out on the road with the likes of Lewis Capaldi, blowing crowds away with his pure love and talent for song writing. Prior to COVID-19, Sam had also been announced to join Niall Horan on the 2nd leg of his US tour.
‘This City’ is out now via New Tribe Music – a joint venture record label between Jon & Karen Hume and Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Jon Hume, the multi-platinum selling Evermore front man, has gone on to work with the likes of Dean Lewis, Sofi Tukker, JP Cooper, Guy Sebastian, Matt Corby and more. New Tribe Music also boasts Kira Puru and Ryan Riback on their local Australian roster.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
