An integral piece of Australian surf and rock history, ‘Sirocco’ cemented Australian Crawl’s legendary status in Australian rock. Featuring the singles ‘Errol’, ‘Oh No Not You Again’ and ‘Things Don’t Seem’, the album was named after actor Errol Flynn’s yacht.
It spent 6 weeks at #1 on the Australian album charts, 8 months in the top 20, and is now accredited 3x Platinum by ARIA.
‘Sirocco’ is single-laden, and flows seamlessly between album tracks and hits. Despite Crawl’s history as a laid-back surf band from the Mornington Peninsula, this record strikes listeners as a more polished and complete collection of tracks than their breakthrough record, ‘The Boys Light Up’.
Sirocco was also the first Crawl album to feature Guy McDonough – drummer Bill McDonough’s brother – who had a tremendous influence on the band’s more polished sound and domestic commercial success. Guy added a smoothness not seen on the sharper-edged ‘The Boys Light Up’ record, and does a brilliant job on vocals for hits ‘Errol’ and ‘Oh No Not You Again’.
The album is filled with classic guitar pop and bravado, and highlights Crawl’s ability to combine breezy tunes while hinting at darker subtexts. Standout hits ‘Errol’ and ‘Things Don’t Seem’ wouldn’t sound out of place on a record by The Police.
To mark the 40th Anniversary, the album is being reissued on limited-edition clear 180-gram vinyl and housed in its original sleeve.
You can pre-order the record here. Out August 6.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
