One of the first events of its kind in Australia, SandTunes Music Festival will debut on the Gold Coast’s Coolangatta Beach this summer on Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1. The brand new, two day beach festival will launch with some of the world’s biggest artists, headlined by global phenomenon Travis Scott. The US star will be joined by other music legends including Logic, Juice WRLD, Carly Rae Jepsen, CHVRCHES alongside performances from local stars like Dean Lewis, Cub Sport, Sampa the Great & more.

Known for staging high quality concerts around the nation including the recent Rapture Eminem music festival, TEG Dainty are back with a new venture, SandTunes, which has been three years in the making. Overlooking crystal blue waters, SandTunes will bring the ultimate party to the shores of the Gold Coast, where revellers will enjoy festival vibes while basking under the southern sun.

International rap star, Travis Scott will head to SandTunes in his only Australian appearance for 2019. Like the wildest roller coaster imaginable, Missouri City, Texas-born and Los Angeles-based multi-platinum iconoclast Travis Scott flips popular music, culture, and fashion upside down. His third full-length album, ASTROWORLD opened up as the undisputed, undeniable, and ultimate musical attraction of 2018 which catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Top 200 as well as the iTunes and ARIA chart.  Consistently “One of Spotify’s 100 Most Streamed Artists in the World,” his total streams surpassed 1 billion by 2017. To date, album sales exceed 1 million and track sales exceed 2.7 million track sales worldwide. The rollercoaster is only going to get bigger, bolder, and better. Brace yourself Australia and buckle up.

Joining Travis is LA-based, grammy award-winning rapper, Logic. Finding his feet through a series of mixtapes before releasing his platinum debut album Everybody, and single “1-800-273-8255”, Logic is known for his superior lyricism, cinematic storytelling and significant underground fan base. The east coast beach is ready for the hip-hop sensation’s debut Australian visit, with SandTunes set to be his first-ever local performance.

Chicago rapper Juice WRLD will dazzle the SandTunes crowd with his US Billboard chart-topping debut album, Death Race For Love. Having collaborated with the likes of fellow rapper Future, and Benny Blanco, Juice WRLD has already set foundations, playing to sell-out crowds.

From open letters to online petitions and countless heartfelt pleas on social media, Australia has long cried out for a visit from the queen of Canadian pop Carly Rae Jepsen. You spoke; we listened. Originally entered the scene with her worldwide smash “Call Me Maybe”, Carly Rae Jepsen has since become a fan favourite, releasing critically acclaimed album Emotion and Dedicated. She will grace the SandTunes stage for her highly anticipated debut performance in Australia. Showcasing her newly released album Dedicated, Carly fans will also be in the presence of her other popular songs.

Alongside Carly, from Scotland, trio CHVRCHES will add their internationally adorned synth-pop hits to the Coolangatta Beach live arena, including their break-through single, “Recover”. Sydney-born trailblazer Dean Lewis, best known for his 7x platinum single “Be Alright”, will light the stages of SandTunes with other hit singles including “Waves” and “Stay Awake”.

SandTunes has curated Australia’s best and brightest talent to represent the Gold Coast festival on the first weekend of December. Adding to the homegrown contingent are Brisbane’s pop wunderkinds Cub Sport. Fresh from an appearance at Glastonbury and hot on the heels of the revelatory new singles “Final Form” and “OMG”, the one and only Sampa The Great. Continuing the charge is no stranger to Australian festival stages Tkay Maidza, soul icon-in-the-making Kaiit and Western Sydney’s hip-hop impresario Kwame. Bringing it back to home turf is Brisbane rockers and 2019 triple j hit-list mainstays, WAAX as well as Kian, the teenaged sensation behind the 50 million stream smash hit, “Waiting”.They’ll be joined by a veritable graduating class of Alice Ivy, hip hop talent Genesis Owusu and Gold Coast local heat Saint Lane.

The Queensland Government, via Tourism and Events Queensland, is proud to support SandTunes, which is featured on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, worth $800m to the state’s economy in 2019. Working together with the City of Gold Coast to deliver this exciting new festival to Coolangatta Beach, SandTunes is expected to inject $11m to the Gold Coast economy. Partner, Village Roadshow Theme Parks, will also assist in promoting this amazing event to locals and interstate tourists alike. The festival is set to attract people from across the nation to the southern Gold Coast, and as a result residents and businesses are energetically waiting for SandTunes to commence this summer.
