This song is a stirring meditation on the relentless passage of time and its impact on the threads of our lives. Delving into themes of family, connection, and enduring values, the track emerges as a heartfelt love letter to close friends and a reminder to remain anchored in authenticity amidst life’s demands. Featuring Cari Cari’s signature blend, the song’s organic, deeply atmospheric sound evokes both nostalgia and introspection. Its refrain, “on and on we go,” poetically captures life’s cyclical nature, resonating as the album’s poignant heartbeat.

The band are also thrilled to announce their signing to Australian label Civilians, reinforcing their commitment to crafting authentic and independent music.

Guitarist/singer Alexander Köck says, “Australia has always been special to us. Our second-ever show was in Darwin, NT, and our first tour was in Australia. This is where we became a band, discovered the Yidaki, and truly shaped our sound. So when Civilians reached out, we were over the moon to join such a unique roster of incredible artists and connect with more Australians. It feels a bit like coming home (and it doesn’t hurt that they’re a bunch of great people). We hope this is just the beginning of a long relationship with many more trips Down Under.”

Stu Harvey – Founder of Civilians – comments, “Serendipitously, the algorithm led Civilians to Cari Cari. Summer Sun started playing in the office after another album, and I found myself humming it for hours afterward—always a good sign. I sent a total cold-call email to introduce myself, and, wisely, Alex initially thought it was a scam. Thankfully, they replied, and within days, we were all on a Zoom meeting getting to know each other. They have a strong DIY ethos, which we love. They work hard, tour hard, and make some super catchy music. We’re absolutely stoked to be working with Cari Cari in Australia and New Zealand. I feel their new music will really resonate with audiences locally.”

One More Trip Around The Sun transcends being just an album—it’s a reflective manifesto. The record pays homage to the passage of time, celebrates the bonds of family and friends, and asserts a defiant stand against fleeting trends and modern pressures. It invites listeners to join Cari Cari in embracing authenticity and creating for the sake of creation. “Millions listen to our music every month, but in the end, it’s the experiences and connections that matter—not the statistics,” the duo emphasizes.

Recorded in their self-built studio, the album radiates the unmistakable Cari Cari sound: earthy, raw, and intricate. Each track builds on their rich sonic legacy, offering timeless soundscapes that reject superficial trends and celebrate depth and originality.

From the very beginning, Cari Cari has championed independence and family. Stephanie Widmer not only designs their album covers, merchandise, and stage sets but also oversees their online shop, which is run by her mother with shipments sent from her grandparents’ garage. The album cover, featuring their family and friends, serves as a heartfelt tribute to the people who inspire and ground them.

Despite a forthcoming world tour in spring 2025 across Europe and the US and acclaim from outlets like BBC Radio 1, Rolling Stone, and NME, the band stays true to its DIY roots.

Cari Cari’s influence goes far beyond their music. In 2021, they used their platform to ignite a cultural debate, publicly denouncing Austria’s inadequate fees for orchestral musicians during a live TV broadcast. Their advocacy went viral, culminating in the Austrian government allocating €25 million under the “Fair Pay” initiative to guarantee minimum wages for artists—a powerful testament to the duo’s belief in the transformative power of music.

With over 2,000,000 monthly Spotify streams and extensive airplay on influential stations such as BBC Radio 1, KCRW, and France Inter, Cari Cari has solidified their position as a powerhouse in the indie music scene. Their accolades include a #3 debut on the Austrian charts with their 2022 album Welcome to KooKoo Island and selling over 15,000 tickets during their last European tour. They’ve graced the stages of renowned festivals like Primavera Sound, Sziget, and Rock am Ring/Rock im Park and supported die ärzte in front of 60,000 fans at Tempelhofer Feld.

With their third album, Cari Cari reaffirms their dedication to creating music that is both authentic and deeply personal. This new album encapsulates years of exploration, self-discovery, and artistic growth. Bold, immersive, and brimming with ambition, One More Trip Around The Sun invites listeners to explore uncharted territories of sound and imagination, cementing Cari Cari’s place as one of the most innovative and captivating acts of their generation.
