It was Baker Boy’s headline show at The Espy (Melbourne) for his Cool As Hell Tour, where G Flip surprised fans by jumping on stage to play drums. Director Jamieson Kerr says, “Making a music video in the middle of a pandemic definitely has its challenges. From rescheduling, directing remotely, technical difficulties, car breakdowns, post delays and a hard drive getting lost in transit, we had it all. In spite of all this I was stoked with everyone’s efforts and super pumped with how the video turned out.“

Baker Boy says, “I wanted the video for My Mind to have a really different feel from my previous videos and I think we got just that. I worked with Aurie to develop a direction that felt really authentic, we just wanted it to feel like the camera was the perspective of one of our friends on a road trip. We stepped away from really polished, fashion and aesthetic focused clips into something really natural and fun but still touching on what the song is about with those cute moments! I’m really stoked with how well this turned out! Jamieson was an obvious choice to direct this one, his natural style really just matched everything we wanted to achieve for this clip! And as always, it was mad fun working with G, they bought all the vibes!’

Baker Boys 14-track debut album Gela is a blistering, joyful record that paints the young rapper more vividly than ever before. The album will include ‘My Mind feat. G Flip’ as well as previously released singles ‘Meditjin feat Jess B’, ‘Move’, ‘Cool As Hell’ and ‘Ride feat Yirrmal’.

Since Baker Boy was first introduced to adoring fans in 2017, the proud Yolngu man has cemented himself as one of the country’s most captivating and talented rappers with each successive release. His list of career accolades include APRA AMCOS Song of The Year Nomination for ‘Meditjin feat. JessB’, six ARIA nominations; an ARIA Gold certification for ‘Cool As Hell’; six wins at the National Indigenous Music Awards; an Order of Australia medal; the 2019 Young Australian of the Year award; multiple placements in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and over 40 million streams of his music world-wide.
