It has been a busy week for the beloved Brisbane band who not only released their 6th studio album on Friday, but also kicked off their 13 show residency at The Triffid, secured a feature album on triple j and performed their 4th Like A Version.

‘Ball Park Music’ may just be the band’s most ambitious and accomplished long-player yet. Recorded and produced by the band at Prawn Records HQ over the summer of 2019/2020, ‘Ball Park Music’ is a journey to the centre of everything that has made the Brisbane rock team one of the country’s most resonant bands of the past decade.

The album has so far been preceded by singles; Spark Up!, Day & Age and Cherub with each being added on release to high rotation on triple j and garnering praise Rolling Stone Australia as “what is arguably the finest album not only released by the band but an Australian artist in 2020”.

“Making the record was such a long journey and finally releasing it this week has been an amazing feeling. We’re over the moon to share these songs and we’ve been completely blown away by its warm reception. We’re a very happy band this week.” writes Ball Park Music frontman Sam Cromack.

The band launched their album on Friday with the first of 13 (THIRTEEN!) sold-out shows at Brisbane’s The Triffid.  In true Ball Park Music fashion, the band created a truly unique live experience, transforming the iconic venue into their studio which fans may recognise from their live renditions and most recently from the Rage Guest host.

For fans unable to attend the residency, the first of the shows were live-streamed via Delivered Live and will be available to watch here till Thursday this week.

They say don’t mess with something that’s already perfect… unless you are Ball Park Music who paid homage to one of their favourite bands by delivering an electrifying cover of the anthemic Radiohead classic ‘Paranoid Android’. Sam explained the reasoning behind the song choice “To be honest, it’s a dream come true to finally do it. It felt like I was 15 again, back in my mate’s bedroom, discovering Radiohead.” Already clocking over 60K views since Friday, this Like A Version will go down in the triple j history books as one of the greatest.

Like A Version closed out a very Ball Park Music week following on from their selection as triple j’s Feature Album.
