Bec Sandridge Announces Tour Supports
vinyl release and festival appearances, ‘In The Fog’ EP out now
“…lifts equally from the late ’70s and early ’80s, evoking Bruce Springsteen, Blondie
and Fleetwood Mac, and the stadium-sized disco of contemporaries such as Arcade Fire and Robyn.”
Sydney Morning Herald
.
“sounds like a kind of female Elvis Presley”
Purple Sneakers
.
“Commanding, quirky and electrifying, Bec is just a joy to listen to.”
The AU Review
.
“Shades of The Jezabels and Kate Bush in this lofty, catchy, irresistible pop tune.”
Dom Alessio, triple j (‘In The Fog, In The Flame’ 4 stars)
Bec Sandridge will be hitting the road for a national tour this March in support of her recent EP In The Fog (Farmer & The Owl/Inertia Music). Today, she is thrilled to announce the artists who will be playing with her in each city, as well as details of the vinyl release of In The Fog.
.
Sydney artist ELKI will join Bec in Newcastle, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Sydney and Melbourne. Citing Kate Bush, Steve Wonder and Burt Bacharach as influences, ELKI makes dazzling pop music with shadowy undertones. Despite having only released three tracks thus far, her sound has found fans at triple j, Stereogum, Pop Justice, Indie Shuffle and more.
.
Perth fans will be treated to the soulful melodies of Elli Schoen, and OKBadlands will round out the bill in Brisbane. Bec Stevens supports in Adelaide, The Dardi Shades will open up the proceedings in Sydney and The Football Club are first up in Melbourne. Full dates and details are below.
.
With the EP getting lots of love at triple j and community radio on a national level (high rotation at triple j, feature album at SYN and Rabbit Radio, full adds at 4ZZZ, RTRFM, EDGE Radio and more), Bec is an artist in high demand at the moment. Having rounded out the past 12 months with main support slots for Montaigne, Cub Sport and Highasakite as well as appearances at Yours & Owls, Fairgrounds Festival and Festival Of The Sun, Bec has recently been announced on the bills for The Hills Are Alive, Mountain Sounds and Secret Garden festivals. Bec will also be headlining Sosueme at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi on Wednesday, February 1. If you haven’t already caught her playing the hits from her new EP live, now’s your chance.
In The Fog is a collection of 5 songs that exemplify Bec’s incredible range as an artist and songwriter. Title track and radio favourite “In The Fog, In The Flame” opens the EP with a bang, followed by the highly stylised disco-pulses of “You’re A Fucking Joke“. Woozy daydreamer “High Tide” is the perfect mid-point (watch her recent solo performance of this one on Balcony TV here), taking the listener to a softer place with a heartfelt rendition of Roy Orbison’s “I Drove All Night” and closing with the gentle melodies of “I Keep Running Back“.
.
Following the EP’s release digitally and on CD back in November, we are now pleased to announce that In The Fog will be available on vinyl from March 17. The release will feature a vinyl-only exclusive track – the Xavier Dunn remix of the lead single “In The Fog, In The Flame”.
