Today, Brisbane rockers Beddy Rays share their most personal single to date  ‘On My Own’. In ‘On My Own’ the songwriting goes deeper than ever, yet the boys have still delivered an epic, mosh-ready beast. And in classic Beddy’s style, features their unforgettable hooks, punchy drums and in-your-face riffs.

Of the single, frontman Jacko said: “On My Own takes you to the darker side of our songwriting and taps into the melancholy aspects of being alone. It’s about the importance of taking time to yourself to sort out your own backyard, taking on whatever comes your way and backing yourself on every step of the way”.

The music video is another clip that’s close to home for the boys. Vocalist and guitarist Lewy shares: “We were throwing around some ideas for a music video and came up with this super elaborate story that revolved around the words ‘On My Own’ then we slept on it and thought nah f**k that, lets keep it simple. We wanted to keep it very Reddy Bay so the idea came up to do the shoot in Lewy’s dad’s shed because it has shit spread everywhere and thought it was an awesome setting for the kind of clip we were going for. We also have some very fond memories attached to that shed, most of which involve a particular sports drink plastic bottle with a suspiciously short garden hose poking out of it.  The rest of the footage is just us wandering around reddy bay visiting places we used to linger, along with some gig footage to give it a bit of seasoning”.

‘On My Own’ follows their latest smash ‘Week On Repeat’, a fast becoming fan-favourite live as already seen for those fortunate to catch them on their sold out run of shows in the Sunshine State last month. The band have also recently nailed their first ever triple j Like A Version, in case you somehow missed it, the must watch is here.

Beddy Rays, from Reddy Bay are made up of four happy-go-lucky larrikins — Jacko, Lewy, Brad, and Benny who are without a doubt becoming one of Australia’s most loved bands. The fellas met as young children on the primary school oval and since then, life has been non-stop since forming the band.

They  kicked off 2021 with a sweet Hottest 100 placement (#57 for ‘Sobercoaster’) which has now over 2.5 million streams on Spotify alone. They were finalists for both the National Indigenous Music Awards and Queensland Music Awards held earlier this year and were named the 2021 Levi’s Music Prize Winners. They’ve toured all over the country and continually win people over with their humble personalities and knack for knowing how to have a bloody good time.
