Driven by bella’s emotional transparency, ‘heart attack’ highlights a worldly perspective on the universal experience of heartbreak. Showcasing a depth beyond her years both lyrically and vocally, bella displays an innate ability to capture such personal moments with a wide relatability. Directed by Josh Mol and Oliver Kirby in the Gold Coast hinterland, the accompanying video melds the softer elements of bella’s personality visually with her light-hearted commentary.
bella on the single: “I wrote this song when I was heartbroken. I didn’t intend on this song being sad but it’s clear my subconscious had other plans. Now I listen to it I can hear how much of a bad place that I was in. It came about because, as naive as I was, I thought I’d found the love of my life. We always talked about a future together and that we were going to get married. But then he split, and it really, really upset me (the first time), so I wrote this. It’s about having someone come back into your life, thinking it’s going to be different. This is a different and more vulnerable side to me and I hope you guys enjoy it here inside my heart <3”.
