Indie pop sensation BENEE, who just celebrated her 20th birthday and already holds close to 4.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, unveils the official video for Supalonley featuring Gus Dapperton. The buzzing New Zealand artist ranked in the Top 10 most voted-for acts in triple j’s Hottest 100, scoring three songs in the top end of the countdown with ‘Glitter’ at #19, ‘Find An Island’ #25 and ‘Evil Spider’ #51.

BENEE worked with rising Australian director Rome on the video which premiered via i-D (READ FULL INTERVIEW HERE). Explaining how she wanted the video to match the song’s colourful and fun mood but also convey its contrasting lyrical theme, she says,
“It starts with me being a lonely teen at home then turns into this weird dreamscape, where I end up dancing around with Gus who appears through a TV screen in the lounge!”
Gus Dapperton chimes in, saying, “It was a really seamless shoot, and the final product is a great depiction of the song!”
2019 was a monumental year for BENEE, as her music buzzed on the hippest playlists with a fervent audience growing around her groove-drenched sound and quirky lyrical-take on the world. ‘Glitter’ and breakout single ‘Soaked’ have each passed 30 million Spotify streams, with ‘Glitter’ featured on Spotify’s Pop Rising, TGI and Indie Pop and Apple Music’s Indie Pop and Pop Deluxe playlists. The song is certified Platinum in both New Zealand and Australia, while ‘Soaked’ is now Double Platinum in her home country and Platinum in Australia.
She released two outstanding EP’s last year and went on to sweep the table at the 2019 New Zealand Music Awards by taking out all four of her nominated categories (Best Solo Artist, Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, Best Pop Artist and Single Of The Year for ‘Soaked’).
BENEE has also become a globe-trotting force, taking her live show back and forth to the northern hemisphere. She is currently back in the country in the midst of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival performing alongside the likes of Charlie XCX, Earl Sweatshirt, Ruel, Stella Donnelly & DMA’s and plans more Northern Hemisphere adventures and musical drops in the months beyond. BENEE will return North America for the biggest headline tour of her burgeoning career and has also just been announced on the UK’s The Great Escape Festival.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
