Award-winning children’s artist Benny Time, aka Benny Thatcher, today releases his fourth album “Benny and Friends”, a fabulous album of true heart and beauty with many great children’s artists as featured guests.

Joining Benny Time on this very special release are friends The Beanies, Tiptoe Giants, Lah-Lah’s Big Live Band, Justine Clarke, Papa Surf, Claudia Robin Gunn, East Coast Inspirational Singers, Itty Bitty Beats, Aunty Trace and Loopy Tunes Preschool Music.

Benny said, “I feel that this album, the ideas behind it and the collaborations, have been with me for many years. On my mind constantly. To see it finally become a reality and to even exceed my expectations brings a joy hard to explain, and something I’m incredibly proud of.”

As an artist living with chronic liver illness, Benny faces more challenges than many.

This led him to create ‘We Wrote That’ with Luke Escombe (Vegetable Plot) which is an incredible initiative enabling children with chronic illness to express their feelings, concerns and views on the world through music and art.

Benny has always believed in speaking to the child in the room who often finds it hard to feel represented with his past music tackling issues such as death and loss, social anxiety and identity.

He also hosts a podcast called ‘Benny asking people questions’ and this week’s episode has seen the tables turned on himself as Benny becomes the interviewee to stand-in host and “Benny and Friends” Producer Michael McGlynn asking the questions.

Benny and Justine Clarke, one of the most recognised and trusted faces in the Australian entertainment landscape, have recently announced the creation of Major Minor Music Australia – a group dedicated to supporting the Australian children’s music industry.

This includes the establishment of Australia’s first dedicated Children’s Music Awards to be held in October 2022.
