Wind your windows down and crank the music up! New kids on the block Betty Taylor are back with their second single Glitter, released today via Australian indie label Hello Gardener.

The good news doesn’t stop there as the dreamy four-piece also announce their first headline tour today, ready to light up stages in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong throughout May 2023.

First dreamt up in front woman Sophie’s tent at Splendour in the Grass 2019, Glitter is an anthem designed to be screamed while you’re behind the wheel. It’s a captivating track, laced with tinkling riffs and alluring vocals that pull you close and never let you go. While feel-good in sound and nature, the track lyrically calls out those folks who have a habit of sugar-coating everything they tell their partner, making false promises in order to make a relationship seem brighter (or glitterier) than it actually is. The song is an ode to freeing yourself from lies and coming to the realisation that you deserve better.

Produced and engineered by Aidan Hogg (who has worked with the likes of G Flip, Jaguar Jonze, Hope D and Eves Karydas) and mastered by Steve Smart (Midnight Oil, Empire of the Sun and Vance Joy), Glitter proves that while Betty Taylor may be the new girls in town, their musicality is rich, considered and progressive.

Tune in to Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield on the Hit Network this Friday to catch Betty Taylor perform Glitter for Australian Made! And keep an eye on socials for the full video when it drops.

Want to see more of the Sunshine Coast besties taking bedrooms and band rooms by storm? Well you’re in luck because today Betty Taylor announce the details for their first ever headline tour, taking place across wateringholes in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong throughout May. Most of the dates on the tour are free, so grab your mates or your date and get your dancing shoes ready. Check out the details here.

Sydney and Melbourne folk have already had a taste Betty Taylor’s captivating live performance when they played support for girl in red’s sold out shows earlier this year. QLD locals will get a chance to see the band before their headline tour when they play Spaced Out Festival in the Gold Coast on 9 April. Head here for all live info.

Betty Taylor is made up of Sophie Patrick, whose indie hooks and honest poignant lyrics are complimented by Kayla Smart (AKA Dorah Jacson)’s beautiful harmonies and wistful guitar riffs. Helping to strike this perfect balance between power and charm are Clare Chittick on bass and Katie Ishaque on drums.

A four-piece to be reckoned with, these pals have a reputation for captivating audiences when they perform live. Despite only dropping their debut single Stallin’ late last year, Betty Taylor have racked up an impressive number of support spots including the likes of girl in red, Pacific Avenue, The Terrys, Teenage Dads, The Rions and Surf Trash.

Now officially out in the wild, tune into Betty Taylor’s new single now and get ready to catch it live when they hit a town near you, because there’s no such thing as too much Glitter.
