Australian pop sensation Betty Who has just released her brand new cover of Kate Bush’s iconic ‘RUNNING UP THAT HILL’.
Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ had a renaissance last year when it was featured prominently across Netflix’s Stranger Things Volume 4, and Betty’s take on the track is a fun gift to fans.
Betty Who has also been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award in the Outstanding Music Artist category for her acclaimed album ‘BIG!’. The GLAAD Media Award is an accolade bestowed by GLAAD, the world’s largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, to recognize and honor various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
“Making art that makes queer people feel seen and less alone is more important to me now, more than ever. The queer community I have found – the people I get to walk through this life with, holding hands, taking care of each other – is one of the greatest blessings I have ever known” says Who. “To be a name amongst these incredible artists who have all contributed so much to the community, I mean… I’m humbled and grateful. It really is an honour just to be nominated. Thank you so much GLAAD.”
Other nominees up for the Outstanding Music Artist Award include Demi Lovato, FLETCHER, Kim Petras, Orville Peck and more. The 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will take place in Los Angeles on March 30, 2023.
Betty Who’s recently released fourth studio album ‘BIG!’ was widely acclaimed by media and fans alike. It was accompanied by a tour of Australia and appearances on Channel 10’s The Project and Hit FM’s Summer Nights.
‘BIG!’ is a collection of 11 stunning and eclectic tracks that sees the endearing pop artist completely let go of her inhibitions, as she shines a light on her story of endurance, self-love and acceptance. On the record, Betty also invites her fans to celebrate the things that make them uniquely themselves.
Born Jessica Newham in Eora/Sydney, Australia, Betty has experienced practically every dimension of the pop culture visibility zeitgeist: going viral on the bombastic strength of 2014 single ‘Somebody Loves You’, soundtracking Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot with ‘All Things’, forming deep ties with foundations like GLAAD and the Trevor Project, and becoming an LGBTQIA+ icon due to her infectious, always-inclusive artistry.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
